Dammit, roxy! Why didn't you show me this before I got married?
My pianist DID play Hedwig's Theme during our unity candle lighting. And it was the single most awesome moment of my wedding (besides the whole getting married part).
I missed last night's thread, so I want to talk about the trailer. Anyone?
My BF and I broke up right before the 7th book came out. We made up the night it was released, and as a present he took me to the store at midnight and bought me the book. I love "Harry Potter." Sigh.
Roxy. You need to read them NOW. The first one takes a little to get into for some people, but you'll get hooked. You'll be sorry if you miss out on them. I'm about to re-read DH before the movie comes out to refresh my memory before I go.
I teeared up at the trailer. Granted, I had sort of a crappy day yesterday, but I think I would have anyway.
I'll talk! I'm insanely excited BUT (this may be heresy) I like the Half Blood Prince much better than the Deathly Hallows. The Deathly Hallows ended in much silliness, imo. Don't get me wrong: there was a lot of awesome, but then some real eye-rolling silliness. Posted by ohwhynot
Are you referring to the Epilogue, or the Other Thing?
Deathly Hallows is amazing. It answers so much. You have to have a lot of time, though, because I could not put it down. There is no good stopping point.
The Epilogue. Also, half-blood prince had a real sense of mystery and menace to it that I found somewhat lacking in DH. I am going to re-read DH, though, because I kind of raced through it to find out what happens; I may be being unfair. But yes, that epilogue was ridiculous.
Yeah, I read DH straight through. How could you not?
I thought the epilogue was a little weird, but there's really no good way to wrap up something like that. At least they're staying true in the movie about that part.
The books are like my children; I can't pick a favorite. They're all special in different ways.

Roxy- The first two are good books, but the third is full of awesome! After the third you will definitely be hooked. watching the movies is hard without having read the books. They leave a lot out.

Thought I think the whole HP juggernaut became too big for its own britches at one point... the last two books had some definitely moments that read like fan fic. Things I don't think would have been written without the indluence of the fans and the media.
My favorite book (and movie) is Prisoner of Azkaban. My least favorite is Chamber of Secrets. I usually skip it when I reread the series.

I actually fell asleep on top of my book with the light on the day after I got it (at midnight, natch). My roommate saw me and told my other roommate, "Meredith's sleeping on her book."
I saw the first movie before I read the book. I have a friend who decided to see all the movies first, but I had to explain backstory to her, too.

Yep! I remembered you said you were working on them in the weekly TB post on SB. It's my newest obsession and I love to share it. ;) (Makes me feel less crazy...)
Simply Fated - they do get better! The writing doesn't exactly wow me, but I find myself caring about the characters so I've sucked in (no pun intended!).

Ok, thought so. I could go to one of the other libraries but I'm too hot by the time I get there so I'll just wait till friday when I get off early.
