Photography input needed please!!

Hey everyone out there in knottie land! We just booked our photographer over the weekend and were wondering if anyone has ever used them...we went with Classic Photographers and got an AMAZING price since we are also getting our tuxes through their Classic Tuxedo store.  If there are horror stories out there, please let me know since it's not too late to cancel!

Thanks in advance =)

Does your contract state exactly who your photographer is going to be?  I'm always wary of companies like this because you never know who you could end up working with.

I would also be very wary about this. Depending on if you can afford a different, independent photographer, you might want to check them out. Out of all the advice I have been given, the number one piece was don't cheap out on your photographer. You should meet with several and find the one that you like the style of the most. There are other places you can be frugal, but your photographer is going to be capturing the moments of your wedding for forever, and you don't want to be frugal on your memories.

When you are meeting with your photographer, make sure you look through their portfolio so you get a sense of their style. And most photographers can be bargained with to get a great deal. Be firm and know what you want when you go into the meeting!

The photographer that I am going to use is here: www.jcrestphoto.com

    Hope this helps!

thanks everyone for your input! Galaxy..our contract DOES say who our photographer will be and we were able to meet with him and look his portfolio which we were pleased with so that's definitely a plus :) Almost every single one of our friends who have gotten married and spent $3K+ on their pictures have been disappointed and didn't turn out well at all. Hopefully we've made a great choice and won't join our other friends in the disappointment.

    Thanks again!

I don't know about their photography services, but Classic Tuxedo as a company stinks big time. We had a nightmare of phone calls, emails, and store visits before getting our $75 refund on a vest return half a year later.

    Worst place ever.

I'm with a private photographer. Her prices were great! and when we went to meet her we were there for 2 and half hours because we were having such a good time looking at her work and shooting the shitt. Its guaranteed she is your photographer on the day along with one of the  photographers she asks to works with. Her package also includes unlimited coverage on the day of the wedding. Her work is amazing and I know I'm going to love working with her. She showed us a whole day of pictures on diff wedding so we could see how all her work is not just her best. Catharine Morris Photography is her. She is out of NH

Have you heard of Metzger Studios. Check Scott out. He does all of his own photography! Wonderful guy, he is doing our wedding. He was super accomodating as well.

    Good Luck!

Personally I would only get a photographer that own his or her own studio - Even though their pictures may be great, it's really a crap shoot as to how much red tape your going to have to deal with if the company is not specifically a photography company. We are paying $1500 for our photographer and he is fantastic and gets amazing reviews.
