Minnesota-Minneapolis and St. Paul

Grr! My FI can't make up his mind on a venue!

We originally were going to book our venue on Lake Mtka with a boat cruise, I was ready to write the check.  Than my FI says we should look at  other options in Stillwater at B&Bs and historic inns.  So we did that today and we also checked out a hall in St. Paul.  They were all nice, but didn't fit exactly what we are looking for.

Driving home he says we should look into getting married outdoors, in a prairie!  WTH?  He even used the phrase, 'like Little House on the Prairie'.  I'm exahsted!  I'm okay with reseaching venues and getting quotes, but it's difficult when he keeps throwing out different ideas!  A boat, a B&B and now a prairie!!  I don't even know where to start looking for an open field of flowers.  lol

Glad I got that off my chest, I'm off to google prairies!

    Oh man, sounds like fun!

Maybe it's time to have a sit down & figure out what you both want.  Or more what he wants!

Good luck finding prairies!!  = )

All those sound great. Stillwater is beautiful and I've seen people get married at the gazebo thing right on the river, with about 60 chairs set up and everything. You could do an outdoor ceremony right on the water and then reception at a B&B.

I also like the boat idea. I love Lake Minnetonka and have always wanted to do a boat cruise out there!

Good luck with the prairie thing...all I can think of is the prairie area of the Minnesota Arboretum.

Awww... I think that's cute. It just sounds like he's excited. I know it's a pain, but just feel blessed that your FI is personally invested in the planning.

Stillwater has soooo many gorgeous venues, so I'm partial to that (I got married at the Historic Courthouse... worth a look if you didn't already see it!) but there actually are a few prairie-ish venues if you hunt around a bit. You'd need to find a separate reception venue for most of them... but yeah. Noerenberg Gardens (sp?) is the first one that comes to mind.

I think the real trick is deciding what YOU want. Just because he says "let's get married at a B&B... wait... no... a prairie!" doesn't mean you have to switch focus every time he breathes.
