Is anyone getting their teeth whitened for their big day? I'm considering going to a dentist, but also wanted to see if anyone had any at-home suggestions (brands, kits, etc...)

    When I went off to college I had to switch to a new dentist and when he saw me he asked how long ago I had my teeth professionally whitened (since he didn't know my history) and I said 'NOPE this is all Crest Whitestrips.' He couldn't even tell the difference.
    I've been using Crest Whitestrips off and on for almost 10 years and I get compliments ALL the time. My now-dentist just stopped doing professional whitening because he said it was a waste of his patient's money, and they could do the same thing with Crest Whitestrips.
    Not sure when your wedding is, but do a 4 week session now, and then depending on how long it is until your wedding, maybe do another 2 weeks beforehand. At this point I just always keep some at home and every once in awhile I'll do another week long session.
    Don't waste your money with a professional whitening! :)

    I agree. I also use the Crest strips. Both my dentist and hygenist said it would be a waste of my money to get professional whitening. I just use the regular ones for 10 days, and I saved two for the day before. $25 for a box opposed to a couple hundred. Colgate also makes a toothpaste that contains the whitening ingredients, it works really well.

    They can make your teeth sensitive, so brush with sensodine while whitening, it will help.

    Do you all use Vivid (~$25) Advanced Vivid (~$45) or Professional Effects (~$55)?

    ETA: I just found a really good deal on the Professional Effects so I ordered them.

    When I registered I got a promo code for 20% off my first order and I got a $5 credit toward shipping (no idea if this is normal - standard shipping was $5 and express was like $18)
    The Professional Effects has a $5 coupon you can apply (just a checkbox that says apply coupon)

    So I got $5 coupon, $5 shipping credit, $9 for the first time discount - total was $37 for the 20-pouch pack.

    The Crest white strips work well for a lot of people, but they make my teeth extrememly sensitive. I've had a lot of success with the shazzam whitening strips from Bling dental ( http://blingdentalproducts.com/ ). They are more expensive, but they are wonderful! Really, they don't bother my teeth at all! Plus they have deals through groupon and living social and stuff. 

    In any case, I hope you find something that works well for you!
