FI and I ordered invitations from minted.com and we used the default wording for the invite style we picked:
'We invite you to celebrate the marriage of
Katy Mylastname & Edmond Hislastname
Saturday, the twenty-second of September at four o'clock
Venue,City,State
Reception to follow'
Seeing it on the proof, I'm thinking 'celebrate the marriage of' sounds kind of like we're only having a reception. Would 'we invite you to witness and celebrate the marriage of' be too clunky, or do you think we should stick with the default, or... something else?
We're fine being positioned as hosts, since we're paying for the wedding. My preferred line would be 'together with their families... ' but that just wouldn't work for the invitation style.
All suggestions are much appreciated!
