Wedding Guest Semi-Bummer moment

I got the worst news yesterday at work! A dear friend of mine that has been like a big brother to me for a number of years let me know that he might be able to make it to the wedding due to a work project. We are both bummed out at the idea of him not being able to make it. We haven't had a chance to see each other in about 4 years (he is in New Jersey, me in Arkansas and work and other obligations don't give us much time to plan a proper vacation to visit).

But there is a possible silver lining, his boss is working with him per his project timeline to see if he can be able to travel for the wedding! If it works out, I am SOOOO going to send his boss a gift basket to personally thank them for letting him take the time off to come for the wedding.

Re: Wedding Guest Semi-Bummer moment

  • I  know this feeling, one of my good friends can't make it I already know. She lives in New Zealand, and is planning her wedding. She just can't make it work budget wise to fly over for my wedding when her wedding is less than 6 months after. It sucks, but unfortunately that's something we've had to just accept
  • I am in kind of the same situation (sort of). My brother 99% won't be at the wedding, he's in the amry, and is in Korea.  He hardly ever gets vacation either, so he reminded me that if I wait for him to come home for the wedding, I'll never get married, we both laughed.  It sucks for sure!! This also means my nephews won't be there because she won't fly with the two boys.  On the good side, our exchange student from high school (which is close to having my brother there) told me that they (him and his parents) are coming to the wedding woohoo!!!  It helps big time!
I hope things work out great for you!!!

Thanks Johnsontar and my heart goes out t0 your brother in the military. Military family here as well.  I have a few friends in the military that asked if I would do Skype for them to see the ceremony. Really thinking about doing just that. That is awesome about the exchange student...nothing better than that!
