DIY favor first attempt PIP

i decided this afternoon to pull out the oyster shells, the paints and give my favor idea a try. i think my proto-type came out alright, wish i could paint a little better. (i need to get a better fine tip paintbrush. yes i am a perfectionist when it comes to my art skills.) i think i will get a sheer gloss paint to go over top for a final coat. :) i am also attaching a ribbon to the top of the shell so that it can be hung. i am not sure if i want to put "our names & 9.4.11" or if i want to write something different on the front at the bottom. i might do "beaufort, nc & 9.4.11" and write our names on the back of the shell. any suggestions?

this is the inspiration for the favors...

    Wow that's really awesome!  How many do you have to make?

    I'd suggest a spray clear coat so you don't smudge your beautiful work.  I like the location and date on the front instead of your names.  Maybe just the date since the scene isn't really of Beaufort?

    I think you're a great painter! I agree with Mary though....how many do you have to make? I would just hate for you to undertake this huge project and then be really stressed out before the wedding trying to get them done.

    Really amazing. When you're through with the wedding, I think you may have a future on easy, if you're interested. Those are beautiful!

    the light house is cape lookout, which is infont of beaufort on the sounds. i think i am going to do a couple different landscapes, i have a feeling painting lighthouses over and over ago will get very old fast!
    luckily i ony have 50 of them to do. i am just doing one per couple. :) thanks for the advice about a clearcoat spray as opposed to paint. :)

    I know what lighthouse it is.  But I've never known anyone who considered it to be in Beaufort, Harkers Island maybe.  Near Beaufort I'll give you, but not so much that I'd lable it Beaufort.  Either way, it's really pretty.
