DAD OR BROTHER...UNDECIDED

My dad and I are not close...he was not there majority of my life and I do not feel close to him. I have a half brother that is a sibling from my dad, and I am really close to him and would like for him to walk me down the isle instead of my dad.

How do I tell my dad (whom is so into buying a suit to play dad for once in his lifetime to walk me down the isle), that I am NOT interested in him walking me down, and I have chosen my brother because we share a very special bond? HELP

    My Brother walked me down the aisle because my dad is paraplegic and couldn't escort me but my mom wanted my step dad to. He's always been there for us and I don't hate him but I just have this HUGE bond with my brother. I just told them straight up as suggested.

    OP; do you think your dad will insist in a Father / Daughter dance since he won't be walking you down the aisle?

    I have this sort of thing as well. My father is a paranoid scitzophrenic, and just someone who caused a lot of hurt in our lives, so he's not going to be walking me down the aisle. I will be taking myself down the aisle, folllowed by the 3 most important ladies in my life. Because of family conflicts, I couldn't have mom do it either. My brother and I aren't close, so he's not doing it either. Seeing as I've been paying my own way since I was 20, I feel it's only right I showcase myself.

    What's wrong with walking the plank alone?

    Thanks for everyone's supportive comments! I feel much better about my decision! Too bad, so sad for my dad! At least he's invited...that's a plus right!!!
