Floral ideas/decisions!

Since our colors are blue and white, hydrangea is playing big part in our floral decor.
My bouquet will have hydrangea, white roses, and accented with some greenery and gardenia for scent.  My inspiration was this bouquet I found here when looking blue wedding flowers.

The BM bouquets will be somewhat similar.
The boutineers will be white roses with little sprigs of hydrangea to give it a little something extra.
My niece will be wearing a wrist-let (not quite corsage, but not big like a pomander) with the same color scheme.
Mom's will have corsages of rose/hydrangea
We're also using hydrangea for the centerpieces (mom has two big bushels of it at home, so another DIY project!  If we don't have enough, I'm hoping to get out to a farmer's market to see what's available)

I'm still debating about how I want the flowers to go on the cake.  I have a pic in my bio of what my cake will sort of look like, but I'm still trying to decide.  Open to suggestion!

I've mentioned this in other posts, but I'm doing a combo pine cone/button bouquette.

    http://www.oncewed.com/7377/diy-wedding/flowers/diy-pinecone-wedding-bouquet/

    http://offbeatbride.com/2010/05/diy-button-bead-bouquet

I'm using larger pinecones than what they have in the first DIY link so I"m only using about 5 or 6 total... and then I"m using really tiny pinecones to "fill" it in with buttons, feathers, beads, and fun.

I've been working on them like a mad woman, and I think either this weekend or the next, I'll actually have pictures and a finished product.  I had a genius idea Sunday morning when I woke up, so we'll see if it actually works this week.  haha.  Yes.  I'm dreaming of my crafts now.

    I LOVE your inspiration pictures!

Purple tulips have been my favorite since I was in the womb I'm pretty sure. My bouquet will be nothing but dark purple tulips, really basic with ribbon around the stems.

Bridesmaid bouquets will be cream colored small roses.
Rather than a basket the flowergirl will have the roses and tulips woven into a head wreath - think renaissance fair (with more showering.)

Undecided about the bouts at this point, I guess it'll come down too whatever Chris picks for tuxes.

Holy crap! I ADORE those pinecone/button bouqet! When you talked about them in the past, I had a hard time imagining what they'd look like, but wow, kudos to you for DIY.  You've got to show us the pictures when you're done, pretty please??

Nana I love the head wreath idea, we almost did that with my niece, but I asked her which (wristlet or head wreath) she liked better, and oddly enough, she chose the wristlet.  Which surprised me because what 11 year old doesn't want to wear flowers on their head!

I've said it before, and I'll say it again. I'm so so so happy this board is alive again!!  It's nice to be able to bounce ideas off of women who aren't completely insane :D

I have to go find pictures ....
But my idea for my bouquet is going to be blue hydrangeas and daisies and maybe some kind of brown element. Flower. Or maybe actual chocolates. That way I have a snack!! Just kidding ... though that would be a hella awesome bouquet. I bet there would be a fight to catch that one! I might have an idea there ... :)

Or its going to be all daisies .. still not sure yet. Sarah - I love the pic you posted. I was thinking something along that lines but since I'm going to try to DIY them, who knows!!

Whatever I decide, I'm wrapping a large locket I found around the stems of my bouquet. It's going to hold a picture of my mother so she can be there with me while I'm getting married. She died in 2000 and this was a classy way I could think of honoring her.

For the boys .. I'm thinking hydrangeas and mini pinwheels or even just the pinwheels. They are wearing white short sleeved shirts so I want it to pop .. but I want it to be cool too. I might even put a tiny fish bead or whatever in Mike's (FI) bout. Or is that taking the fish thing too far??

I will "third" that it's fun to see this board hopping again.  Us OMLs (old married ladies) still like to come by and check out what the latest crop of brides are up to, so it's great to see everyone sharing their ideas!

For you blue flower brides, think about adding in some stems of blue delphinium.  The darker color against the hydrangea really pops and emphasizes the blue!

I still lurk around here too even though my wedding was last year - I would love to quit my job and become a full time wedding planner/coordinator :o)  Here are pics of mine:

    So...just ideas, nothing official yet.

I know I want calla lilies, and our colors are dark red and golden yellow so I'm thinking my bouquet will be calla lilies, yellow puruvian lilies, and red roses.

Brides maids I think just calla lilies, with a yellow ribbon or something of the sort because their dresses are red.

And no idea for bouts since I'm not sure what the men will be wearing yet.

We got married in December (I won't even go into how long it's been!) and my bouquet was sterling silver roses with stephanotis and babies breath.  The girls carried arm bouquets of orchids.  I have no idea what kind since i gave our florist free range with that one, but they turned out really cool and had sparkly gold snowflakes worked in (our colors were purple and gold).
