I'm no help except I vote for it since you love Piedmont Park. ;) Good luck with finding a place...

Venue is ok! I am very picky, so there are a few things I did not like about it. The pros for me were the location, skyline view, opportunity for great pics. Inside is very beautiful, but I am planning to have an outdoor wedding! If you want it inside, I would say go for it, outside, I would definitely consider another venue! Also check out Piedmont Room. It is beautiful inside and the tent is beautiful as well!!! And it is at Piedmont Park.

we looked at greystone, but wanted an outdoor wedding...the date we were looking at was in the summer, and the pool that it overlooks is open to the public until 7:00 in the summer I believe...i did not want any part of my wedding to be around an open community pool with all of the noise so we decided against it! I loved the inside of greystone...it was beautiful, and the chivari chairs are included which was a big plus...alcohol costs are reasonable as well!! Another negative was logistics...my father had a complete knee replacement and was NOT happy about the walk to the venue...we would have had to pay extra for golf carts to transport guests.

I looked at it and liked it.  The space is an odd shape.  Very long, but the outdoor patio is nice for cocktail hour.

I looked at the Piedmont Room too and liked the tent area, but the restaurant is open while your ceremony and reception is going on, and restaurant guests can see and be seen from that area.  The Piedmont Room upstairs has beautiful views.

Wow, I didn't even think about the pool part! That pool is very loud and swarming with children!

Have you looked into other venues at the Park? There are several there and even more up the hill at the botanical garden.

I'm getting married at dockside Lake Clara Meer in Piedmont Park and golf carts will take guest the short walk up to Greystone for mocktails and dinner. With that being said, having an outdoor wedding is definitely an option.
