Dress dilemma

While I have a friend who is helping me with my dress, having a base one that is customized seems to be the route I'm going (she is moving out of state so making from scratch is harder).

The idea is to redo the waist and add sleeves because I don't like my upper arms. But I can't figure out what sleeves would look best with this style! I'm thinking 3/4 sleeve v cap or full length. I'm just not sure what would look good with the pleating.

I am plus size and it's a summer wedding and I want something light in fabric and look (water themed wedding). All input is welcome! Thanks!

I think 3/4 sleeves might be better than full length, just because it would be summer. But I'm sure either would work. The actual seamstress would have a MUCH better idea of what would work best than little ol' me.

Ooo that's really pretty!

My suggestion, that I see in my mind's eye......

Elbow length sleeves rather than 3/4.....it is a summer wedding.....And sleeves that are flowy. so wider than your arms. You know how they make those sleeves now that are probably like twice the size of your arms and they look pretty cute. Also, maybe a slit in the sleeve like they do sometimes....so it's more flowy and open, but still covers your arms.

I third the elbow length split sleeve. I think it would go beautifully with the flowing of the dress. I also have to say I love that dress. THere is one very similiar to it by Suzi Chin in the "reception dresses" section that I decided will be my dress should I go the courthouse route, orrrr if I do a summer wedding on a lake. I just adore that dress. So I must compliment you on basing your dress off of that.

THe problem with getting to Seattle is I want my friend who will "doctor" it for me to see me in it and she can't get up there (shei's in the process of moving to Oregon) and the Tacoma store doesn't have it (she's in DuPont - I'm T-town). I did just order the one from Nordie's thought and should have it in a couple days!

So excited over the possibilities!!
