Hello ladies...

I was wondering how far in advance you look for your hair and make up person. I am still not sure if I want to pay to have someone do my make up or if I want to just do it myself. But i just wondered how quick they fill up

    My wedding is May 19th next year and I started looking for a hair & make-up person last month. All the make-up people I spoke with were already booked, and some of the hair people as well. Some were willing to do 2-3 weddings in a day, but that made me nervous. I didn't want anyone rushing my hair & make-up just to get somewhere else. I eventually booked Michelle Buzaki at Salon Lofts in Worthington, and a Mary Kay lady is doing my make-up :)

    To be honest, I was a crazy person and booked everything (hair, makeup, photographer, venue, cake, etc.) almost a year and a half in advance.  I figured, if i knew who I wanted, I may as well book them before someone else did.

    I think I started looking for hair/makeup about 4 months in advance.  Most of the "big" names I contacted (Shannon Goode, Alison Feamster) were already booked.

    After I read the first post, I started emailing everyone to see their prices and if they were booked, no one yet, but my wedding is a year and 3 months away

    I agree with "crazy planner", if you know you want it, do it. If you change your mind, you have plenty of time to change it, but you don't want to wish you would have booked sooner with someone you wanted. Look at me! Giving out wedding advice to the pro.

    We got engaged in May and have everything booked. I mean, everything. With the exception of hair and make up.... Not sure if I want someone else to do my make up (SUPER SUPER sensitive skin) I may go to a boutique in the mall or something and have consulatations done for eye colors. But, that's about it. Bride on a budget here, too. So that kind of inhibits things.
    We're also getting married on an "off day" so we aren't worried about the day getting filled up. I just very over excited and we just did it all in two months. hahaha
