How much?

How much have you budgeted for your wedding? I'm doing some configuring and i think the total cost of our wedding is going to be around $8-9k. Way better than i thought it would be. What am i missing?

I think it would be easier to figure out what you are missing if you make a list of everything you have included in the budget so far.  I made my entire list and still missed stuff.  I think the budget had to be redone 3-4 times.  I think ours is up btwn 10-12k right now.

Are you having music at the wedding, or are you having the same person do music for the wedding and the reception? I also added in ours the cost of the marriage license ($30), who is officiating?, gifts for attendants and parents, programs for the wedding, videographer?, included in our photography budget is also the cost to print the photos after the wedding since our photographer releases them to us to print.

That is all I can think of right now.  HTH!

wedding party gifts.  Easy to over look and quickly adds up.  We have 4 on each side.  When all is said and done, I'll have spent about $50-$60/bridesmaid, including the jewelry I'm giving them to wear on the wedding day.

    Accessories for you-shoes, veil, jewelry

Also make sure you factor in gratuity and taxes.  Most venues add in 20% gratuity plus local taxes. (Iowa is 6% and MN-I too am from Mpls is 7.5%)  This can add on $1000 easily depending on your catering expenses.

Can't think of  anything else right now...
You have a good list!-I'm just throwing things out there that are a necessary expense that a lot of people overlook when creating their budget.

P.S. our total budget is $12K-$13K not including our honeymoon for a wedding in Mpls for 130-150 people.  We are also doing a lot of DIY.

I'll have to add the marriage license, and the gifts. The music for the ceremony is free because my cousin is going to be playing piano for us. She is only 10, but she can play amazingly and is very excited to play for us. I was thinking about getting her a little bracelet or something special to say thanks to her. Videographer..that's a good one. I might just have someone record the thing on their camcorder..who knows. Thanks for the help though!

We are having Visualities Videography for our videographer.  She's out of Omaha and has great pricing.  Check out the website: www.visualitiesvideography.com

We thought about having someone tape ours, too, but then realized we want everyone there to enjoy themselves and not have to worry about taping!  Definitely up to you though :-)
