Jackson area--outdoor wedding venue???

My goal is to have a beautiful, nature-inspired outdoor wedding and a tented outdoor reception. I'm having trouble finding a good location, especially for a decent price (i'm on a very limited budget!). We're thinking about just marrying on the grounds of his family's church, but I want to look around a little before making a final decision. Both our families live around the Jackson area and we want to keep it nearby. Jackson, clinton, vicksburg, etc. Any ideas?

Have you considered Mynelle Gardens? It's really inexpensive.

Also consider Lucktt Lodge. You won't be able to the tented outdoor reception (they have an indoor reception venue) but they have the most beautiful outdoor chapel. I'm having an outdoor wedding as well and looked at a lot of venues; well, there are not that many to choose from here.

There are some really lovely areas by the reservoir. Are there places along the Trace to rent?  The Mississippi Craft guild building is out that way. It is gorgeous and with lots of glass so it seems outside. http://mscrafts.org/index.php/facility-rental/ Our office just did an event and dinner there. Bravo catered and everything was really great. There is a new place in downtown Jackson called the Eudora Welty Commons. It has a very lovely outdoor area with a fountain and plaza as well as a beautiful old home. It really has that old Southern charm. http://weltycommons.com/ Not sure how expensive it is to rent. Let us know what you end up doing! Best of luck!

Have you looked at the Jiggett's Home in Canton? It's an antebellum home with a beautiful backyard. The owner provides just about everything....tables, chairs, linens, serving pieces and caters. It's really pretty.

I'm a photographer and I just shot a wedding at Gazebo Lake, located in Utica Ms.
This is such a beautiful private place. The owners name is Dorothy. If you need a photographer I would love to help you out, if I have the date available. My business is new and I'm trying to build my customer/client base. I can offer you a really good rate with copyright free photos.

  • I've been to Seminary Canoe Rental in Seminary and they have quite the setting for an outdoor wedding. They have 4 beautiful, rustic cabins there that can be rented out for the event. Two of which that are on the creek. So anyone lookin' for a beautiful outdoor spot with facilities, a creek in the background, this is the place! Wonderful for Flip-Flop, Western, Elegant Country weddings. Thought I would share- My husband and I got married January 15 and I searched for places and could hardly find any outdoor venues to consider.
