ok My name is Jalesa and im in a contest to win my dream wedding! My husband and i got married last year on Valentines day at the courthouse because we couldnt afford a nice wedding! well now i got my chance! please just take 3 secs out of your day to vote for us! we would greatly apreciate it! thank you in advance!     You already had a wedding, why would we help you win another one!? There are a lot of women on here who had lovely JOP weddings and to say that it doesn't count is an insult to them. It's also an insult to the same-sex couples on here who can't even have a simple JOP wedding because it's not recognized.

    This is against the TOS for theknot, and not only that, most of the brides here paid for their own weddings.  Why are you extra special?

    Also, you are already married.  You already had a wedding.  A JOP wedding IS a wedding.   You aren't a bride.  You are a wife.   Having a pretty princess fake wedding is totally against all forms of proper etiquette.  You should rethink your ideas.

    ok but why are you all upset because im a finalist??? Also hoes is this insulting to same sex couples? i asked a simple question! you'll didnt have to repond so negativily! LOL how is a "Pretty Princess Fake wedding" not proper ettiquette?? My husband signed us up for it and my family is all here for it! so are you Jealous? Hating gets you no where but thanks! ill be sure to let you see mY $100,000 dream wedding

    Well, gee. I wasn't going to, but after that tirade, I went and voted for someone else. I voted for Meghan and Doug b/c they were first on the list and I didn't care enough about this to scroll any further. 

    Also, I'm unclear why you randomly posted "whose" b/c that word has no place in your post, so I don't know why you were trying to make a correction using it. And also, of all the things to try and correct in your post, JUST that one word stuck out to you? Sigh.

    I promise you, I'm not jealous.  I had a beautiful wedding, that we managed to pay for all by ourselves.   You should be asking your friends and family to vote for your fake wedding.  Not strangers who all managed to afford their own weddings.

    And since you asked...  fake weddings ARE against etiquette. Because you are asking people to participate in, and likely spend money on something that is completely meaningless.  You are already married.  If you want to do a vow renewal in 10, 20, 50 years, fine, you should do that. That is a complete different scenario.  And vow renewals don't include big white puffy dresses, first dances, bouquet tosses, etc.  They are typically low key events that take place after a milestone in the marriage or sometimes, after overcoming a hurdle in life (like cancer).

    As far as your fake pretty princess day being offensive to same sex couples.  Yes, they are. Because you are somehow indicating that your JOP wedding just wasn't good enough for you.  And somehow because you are so extra special, you deserve a big fancy wedding, because your JOP marriage is beneath you.  Same sex couples would give their left eye to be allowed a JOP wedding.  Also, it's offensive to those straight couples who DID have a JOP wedding. It indicates that somehow, their weddings aren't "real" or "good enough". 

    By the way, I didn't even look at your link, so I had no idea you were a "finalist", but I'll be sure to look at it now and vote for someone a little less entitled.

    Dang, am I too late to this party?  I just got in on the last day of voting, Matt and Katie are super cute so I voted for them!  I love their video, they obviously put a lot of effort into it!  And guess what?  They're ENGAGED TO BE MARRIED, and they didn't call me a "hoe"!
