    Yes, once you are married.
Bring your marriage certificate to the SS office and change that first. Then take your new SS card to the DMV to change your license. Then credit cards, etc. Pain in the ass, huh...

I went and changed my DL first with my marriage certificate then over to the SS office with my marriage license and the paper they give you from the DMV.  After all that, then I changed all of my cc, bank, etc.  Just remember that you won't be able to travel easily until you get your new DL because they punch a hole in the expiration date of your old one.  And it takes a couple of weeks to get your DL and SS card.

Here's a variation on the question:  what if you are changing your name & moving to a new state so you require new Driver's License, pretty much fill in the blank?. My insurance won't lower my rates until I have fully registered in IL with a IL DL and a IL registration.  My California registration is paid up until next year in December--yeah a total waste(they wont refund the money).

We have to get our house title reissued once we're married in order for each of us to take full advantage of the way the title would be issued if we were married.
