Hi ladies...sorry been MIA the past few months. Been crazy ever since the wedding. We got married 7/3, my kids went to visit their dad in TN on 7/15 and we left a few days later for our honeymoon. We got 2 whole weeks alone after we got back and then the sh!t hit the fan!
My oldest son (15) has been living full time with his dad in TN for 3 years. He really wanted to move home for good this summer because of a lot of abuse and drug issues that came up with his dad. We already had the custody papers drawn up and were just waiting for his dad to sign. Well, my boy decides to mess off at the high school he went to down there and got himself thrown in juvenile detention for "unruly behavior." Since his dad hadn't signed the papers, he still "technically" had custody and they would only release Dev to his dad.
When they found out what was going on, the judge held Dev for 5 days (!!!) as a protective measure, called in CSB, and ordered his dad to sign the custody papers and fax them to me that day or face criminal charges. Then she gave me 2 days to get the papers court stamped here, get Dev registered in school up here, and drive down to TN to appear in court to get my son.
Uggg. So I did. Had to borrow from vacation time I don't even have yet to get the time off work, but we got it done and got him home.
Now the family adjustment and healing has set in...and it's not been pretty all the time. We've had good days and bad, but the counseling for him starts next week and we're all just muddling through day by day.
So that's been the summer in a nutshell. Glad to have everyone back in school...back at work...and back on schedule. Now I can come bug you guys from time to time!
