Texas Station

I have been looking at venues off of the strip since I haven't really found anything I really like. I happened upon the Texas Station. I like the chapels and reception areas and they seem to be cheaper.
Has anyone had a wedding there or do you know someone that has?? Any feedback at all would be appreciated.

My friend just had her wedding there. The Chapel was very nice and so was the ballroom. The food was also VERY good. The one thing that I had a problem with was the coordinator. They did not set up anything for her except for tables, tablecloths, and chairs. If you want centerpieces, favors, escort cards, or anything extra, you have to do it yourself. Myself and two friends did it for her so the bride wouldn't have to do it herself, but the coordinator was a pain in my ass. My friend had escort cards for 8 tables, they only set up 7. I told the coordinator there are assigned table and we need one more table. She gave me such a hard time about it and pretty much told me no way are we getting another table. I went in huge biitch mode and finally she sighed and got another table. She seemed rude, and like this was the last thing she wanted to do, even though she was doing nothing.

Sorry for all the rambling! But either way, it was a lovely place. I would definitely recommend it, but I would suggest hiring a DOC. It really sucks to rely on any friends or family to set up for you, and you definitely will not have time to do it yourself on the day. Hope this helps!

Oh, and just and FYI it is way way off the strip, just in case you weren't aware.

ETA - sorry OP, I don't have any info on Texas Station, except that I love all of the Station Casinos I've ever been to.

ps...I drink beer only at Oktoberfest.  The rest of the time I am a wine and/or gin and tonic girl.

LOL!  So obviously, you're getting married at the Golden Nugget. I read your site/planning bio, whatever the hell you call it... IMPRESSIVE! I am lost right now. I feel like I have hit a brick wall with picking a venue.
I don't want to spend a ton of money, it is a small, intimate ceremony with family and close friends (I'd say 30ish). BUT, I want something classy and elegant yet simple. Small cake & champagne reception. Oh and my OWN photographer! I don't care if I have to pay for it!

I am so frustrated with the venue thing that I am about to just say forget it and go to the courthouse. Yell

If you only have 30 people I wouldn't suggest a ballroom. Have you looked at Maggianos, VERY affordable, so much fun, and everything is taken care of for you. Perfect choice.

THANK YOU! I will look into that. I had not looked there... I had been sticking with mostly chapels/hotel venues. Planning from afar is proving to be a royal pain. And getting people to call me back is like an act of congress. Thank you so much for the help!

Im planning on getting married Jan 7th there. We met with one of the coordinators finally after a month emailing her since i live in la, ca. She seemed fine just fine not awesome. But I can probably have my aunt decorate the tables for us it wont be too hard. We arent decorating the chapel it looks fine to us.

Just keep in mind they may not give you access to the room until like 1 hour before. We had to rush and we were lucky the ceremony started late otherwise we would have missed it. I would hate for any of my guests to have to work for me and miss the ceremony which was the whole reason they came. I would suggest a DOC if it is in the budget.

Its weird they give you a coordinator for the ceremony but not the reception and Im not reading the contract and it states they wont set nothing up, its stupid plus I don't have the money to get one for the reception. I would pay her or another family member to do it.
