2 Part post ... hangers for bridal party gift/food question!

So I purchased these hangers with the bridal parties names spelled out by the wire and they came just painted white. Last night I decided to decorate them myself and here is how they came out!

This one is the bridesmaids. I have three of them that I decorated the same exact way.

This one is my Maid of Honor's! (Don't mind the yellow stripe uploaded wierd)

My Second part is food at your reception.

We are going to be having a buffet with salad, rolls, potatoes, vegetable, prime rib, and turkey. As for appetizers we are going to have crackers and cheese as well as a vegetable platter stationary. For passed appetizers I am having a hard time deciding what is enough. I was going  just do scallops wrapped in bacon, and crab meat stuffed mushrooms. Do you think that is enough or should I add one more?

  • I would suggest that you don't have both passed apps be seafood. Some people either don't like it or can't eat it for religious reasons. Otherwise, I think the number of choices is fine.

  • I agree with PP! I'm allergic to shellfish so I woudn't be able to eat it!

The hangers are great! Did you get those of Etsy? I tried to DIY them but they're tough!

  • Love the hangers! I'm debating getting some made as well. Those are so pretty!! As for the food, how much time is there until dinner? You may not need much to tie guests over. I have 3 appetizers during cocktail hour and one will be a seafood option. It suits our guests and well I love seafood. If it were up to me the meal would be the salmon option :p

  • Those hangers are adorable, love them!

I can't help much with food, we haven't figured it out yet, but I agree with PPs... Maybe add something that isn't seafood for the apps

We met with our caterer this weekend, and he told us that you want anywhere between 4-6 pieces per guest. We decided to go with a number of around 5 per guest, since we are also having a buffet dinner. So you may want to figure out a number of pieces per person that you feel would be enough and is within your budget and then go from there. I think, as long as budget allows, you should do a variety of appetizers. Like PP said, some people are allergic to certain items, some may not want to eat meat (do you have any vegetarians/vegans coming?). Just a couple thoughts -- hope this helps! :)

PS -- hangers are SO CUTE! I love the green flowers that you added.

  • Thanks everyone. I actually ordered the hangers off a woman on Weddingbee she was very reasonable. I didnt even think about the two fish appetizers! I think I was thinking about the crackers and vegetables and not the passed. I had budgeted for one more appetizer so I will look at the list and see what else I can add!

Those appitizer choices sound delicous, but I wouldn't make them both seafood.  If you can afford a third, I would have one seafood (with no beef involved so guests who are "vegetarians" but still eat fish can have it), one vegetarian option, and one beef/meat option.  I'm also pretty aware of people who have food allergies, like seafood or nuts, because I have an allergy myself.
