First portion of my wedding slideshow -- link in post

We are planning on playing a slideshow at some point during the reception -- I think maybe at the beginning of dinner. We are doing a portion on me, a portion on FI and then us together. Here is what I came up with for my portion. I'm looking to get your thoughts on it...too long? need more or less time between pictures? Specifically I'm looking for thoughts on the various transitions into the next picture. I pretty  much did an assortment of all of the transition types but I don't know if it's too much...should I stick to just a few and alternate between them? I was alternating between two but I felt it got too repetative.

If you didn't ask about transitions I wouldn't of even paid attention to them. I think they are fine the way you have them.

As for length. I think you should see how many pic's your FI come up with and you can match yours with his so it is even.

I didn't find the different transtions distracting, they were kind of fun! I think the amount of time for each picture was good.

Is the him before you section going to be the same length? It did feel a little long, especially towards the end. Will people be eating dinner and have this in the background, or will this be a focal point? If it's going to be in the background, you're probably fine, but if it's going to be all eyes on the screen, I would probably cut it down a bit (and focus on pictures with you and someone else, especially if those people are going to be there -- people love to see pictures of themselves!).
And they're the five best friends that anyone could have, the five best friends that anyone could have! Photobucket

I agree with PP - if this is going to be in the background then the length won't matter.  If this is going to be a focal point, then I would combine all of your part, his part, and the together part into one song.

I clicked on the link before reading all your questions and I actually did notice the transitions right away.  The transitions weren't bad, but having so many random ones definitely made it seem like you just hit the "randomize" button on your computer when making it.  I would stick to one good transition type that you like to make the feel consistent.  It won't be boring because transitions aren't supposed to be a focal point.

You did a really good job putting all the pictures together!  I love making slideshows and have done one for my wedding too.  However you end up making it, I'm sure everyone will love it :)

Thanks for the feedback! FI will have about the same...so far he's undecided on a song but most of the ones he wants are around the same length.

Yes, I was planning on having it play during dinner -- not the main focal point before dinner. The last of my pictures were focused me with the girls in my bridal party -- do you think I should also include pictures of other people who are just attending the wedding?

How did you do yours, if you don't mind sharing? Did you only use one song? When are you playing yours?
