Try to make the centerpieces trial - make enough to see how it looks on one table to decide if that is what i really want -

What wedding-related project are you tackling this July?
vMy mom flys up so we will be riunning to NYC for lace and fabric. Make the veil and table numbers.

Tell us about/let us see your invitation suite. Is it retro/vintage?
I am now having second thoughts as to my invitation - its not retro at all - art deco really - so i will look into other options - but to keep the costs down I will make them myself.

What's your latest retro/vintage idea/inspiration?

Nothing really new! At this point I have just six short weeks to finish up all the little details.

What wedding-related project are you tackling this July?

I'm hoping to get my rehearsal dinner invites done this weekend.

Next project -- we are gathering photos of us as children and framing them to display at the wedding. Our parents picked out a whole bunch that we have to go though to remove the really embarassing ones!

Another little project -- call me crazy, but I'm going to make a little veil/bride costume for our girl cat. Our boy cat already has a tuxedo that my fiance made for him (he wore it for the proposal!). We're going to take photos of the cats in their wedding attire to use for our thank you notes.

Tell us about/let us see your invitation suite. Is it retro/vintage?

My fiance made our invites. I don't have great pictures of it, but it does have a vintage look to it (although it's in a modern pocketfold). The outside has a wax seal with our last initial, so that's definitely vintage.

robotCake - Love it! We have a cat named Isis and I sooo want to train her to be the ring bearer, take pictures for table numbers, just something wedding related so she is included!

What's your latest retro/vintage idea/inspiration?

Fred Astaire and Ginger Rogers. Did I say that last month? We created our save the dates based on them and they finally made it out.

What wedding-related project are you tackling this July?

I bought the materials to do a whole bunch of projects. My garter, bracelet, best man's bout are finished or almost finished - pics in bio. This month it's hairpieces, Matt's bout, earrings, and possibly some paper projects like labels for the vintage candy buffet.

Tell us about/let us see your invitation suite. Is it retro/vintage?

The design is in my bio. It will be printed onto white card stock with an ivory card stock background and hand painted with gold flake paint. Since we haven't printed them out, I can't show you my whole invitation because this is a custom design.

robotCake - How adorable! I keep saying my girl cat needs to be our ring bearer, but FI won't let me.

What's your latest retro/vintage idea/inspiration? My ceremony music! I found a great classical piece that I love. Not really "vintage" but it will definitely help with the vintage feel.

What wedding-related project are you tackling this July? Wedding dress take 2. FI and I are going to go look again this weekend. Its going to be so much fun! Also meeting with a photographer on Saturday.

Tell us about/let us see your invitation suite. Is it retro/vintage?
I'm having a seller on Etsy make me these. The colors will be a brighter purple and blue than is shown in the picture. I'm Nestie friends with the seller, so she's giving me a good deal on them.

What's your latest retro/vintage idea/inspiration?
No significant inspirations for this month. Though I was browsing through a UK wedding magazine yesterday, and found a cute idea for the champagne glasses. In order to help your guests remember whose glass is whose, tie an antique button around the stem of the glass with some ribbon--cute! Probably I won't do this, but maybe... I have a huge antique button collection, so we'll see. Our guests likely aren't having more than one glass of champagne, so I don't really see the point. Unless we do it for the wine glasses. Hmm...

What wedding-related project are you tackling this July?
Our music list is getting finalized, and I am going to be working on the table layouts. Also making the mustache sticks for the DIY photobooth. And I'm contacting my aunties who are helping me with wedding stuff to touch base with them. One aunty in particular is doing all of our ceremony music (she's a flutist) so we have to discuss things!

Tell us about/let us see your invitation suite. Is it retro/vintage?

I love our invitation suite! It's clean and modern and folksy and vintage all at once. The designer drew on old retro and vintage folk designs and common motifs from Finland and the rest of Scandinavia (including some I made myself) and created the suite of our dreams. Here they are!

What wedding-related project are you tackling this July?

Just started/finished working on our save the dates!! (photo below!) They are based on red sox game tickets and we are going to make them into magnets. And just had our E-pics done! We'll be finalizing our guest list, and hopefully getting in touch with the band we want to book (The guy in charges wife just had a baby so he took the summer off)

We don't have them started yet, but we have ideas! We are hand making them and they will be pretty vintage, with a baseball twist!

What's your latest retro/vintage idea/inspiration? My dress inspiration is coming from swing style dresses. Of course, I have not a clue if I'll settle on that style, but it's the thought of the moment. LOL!

What wedding-related project are you tackling this July? Getting our Save the Date postcards ready for an August mailing is July's project. They should be ready in a couple of weeks and then we begin addressing those bad boys. *fingers crossed* The design was inspired by vintage post cards for tourist/beach destinations ... "Meet us in Asbury Park" ... difficult to describe, but you might know what I mean.

Tell us about/let us see your invitation suite. Is it retro/vintage? There will be vintage elements -- letterpress printing, vintage-inspired font (18th century, to match the venue), and a subtle decorative element (vintage scroll embellishment in the corner). No pics available, sorry. The designer and I have been focused on the Save the Date post card. Since the wedding isn't until July 2011, we have LOTS of time ...

gray & black 50s style dress from Dress Barn that I'm beyond excited to

wear!

Finding an officiant. It is early, but I hate leaving things hanging. I got a

little sticker shock when our minister told us how much it was. Now I'm going

to start looking at judges.

Got these from Michaels with 40% coupons (woot!). I think that the brown & swirls look kind of vintage. I will select a font that looks 19th century & maybe add some wax seals.

Traditional Style Tattoos. I'm starting a sleeve for my right arm on the 17th that I've been dreaming about for years. All the simple cartoon like designes are consuming my brain!

Tell us about/let us see your invitation suite. Is it retro/vintage?
This is a hard one for me. I'm still in brainstorm mode for this project so I don't have pictures, but I have tons of ideas.
They will fit my nautical theme, anchors, fish, compass, stars...but I haven't decided what the layout will be and I'm having a really difficult time finding stamps that fit my Theme...I might have to make my own. SO, if anyone knows of a good place to by stamps let me know!

What's your latest retro/vintage idea/inspiration?
I'm actually rethinking the feel of our wedding, to a little more formal. Still not uber formal but I really want it to be a little more special than what we were originally envisioning.

Focusing on moving, wedding is on hold for right now!

The invitations I'm currently looking at are somewhat vintage. I think they're really pretty and simple.

Nukke- The blue part is a lace pattern. I can't for the life of me find a larger stock picture and my camera broke last month when I was traveling.
I'm gonna try and get a better picture with FI's phone next time I go to Michaels.

My 1920s wedding cake topper- just ordered it yesterday! Also looking at Mary Jane shoes- think I may have found the ones I'm going to get.

Making DIY Save the Dates
Trying to come up with a guest list and a playlist for the reception
Found an officiant, haven't paid him yet but he is a friend who said he will do it.

Our wedding is still far enough out that we haven't started looking at invitations yet. Still need to secure a venue before we can have any invitations made!

So I'm replying to this REALLY late, but I really feel I need to.

What's your latest retro/vintage idea/inspiration? The month of July is my inspiration this month. I couldn't imagine getting married in any other month. We checked out a new venue, and got so see what flowers are in bloom at the venue to make bouquets and to decorate with. Also, there have been so many yardsales and I've been picking up clear glass things like wine glasses, pretty glass trays, etc. I actually went to a yardsale yesterday and saw something I KNEW I should get but didn't! WHY, WHY, WHY do I do this!!!!

What wedding-related project are you tackling this July? I checked out a new venue!!! It's only a 4 minute drive form our house and is GORGEOUS! It's pricey though, and we're still undecided about it. I wanted to check it out in July because that's when our wedding will be. It was absolutely perfect.

Tell us about/let us see your invitation suite. Is it retro/vintage? The invitaitons I have picked out are really pretty and dark, but I have some time to decide if they really are perfect for us.
