Bridal Shows

Hi guys! I’m newly engaged and getting married October 2013. My venue is set but everything else is up in the air. I was thinking of going to a bridal show to check out photographers, caterers, ect. There seem to be a few different bridal shows in the area. Are bridal shows worth the time? Any advice on which bridal show is the best?

    They get pretty mixed reviews, I think.  Some girls get really good discounts from some of their vendors.  I think overall they can be pretty unnecessary.

    Just make sure you don't give them your email address.

    1) Definitely don't give them your email. Bad mistake on my part.
    2) I got absolutely nothing out of the show, besides a fun afternoon with my bridesmaids. Pretty pointless. I got almost all of my vendors from these boards.

    I agree with the PPs. I went to one in Dallas in January, and I felt like it was a let down. It might help if you're not really sure of the look or style that you are going for. Ultimately, though, I think the girls on this board and the vendor sticky are much more helpful!

    Totally agree with PP, although, if you are going to go, the Dallas show is WAY better than the Fort Worth show.

    Ditto.  Although I did get a few nice bridal magazines and got to taste some free cake.  It can be a fun day with your MOH and I do know some girls have gotten coupons for vendors that they ended up using.  Just don't go in expecting to be blown away.  At the very least, you can get ideas from it.
