New Jersey - South

DJ

Hi Knoties,
I've only posted one other time on the South Jersey msg board but see a lot of familiar names from the Philly board. I'm getting married in Sept and just started checking out DJs. DJs available is within my price range but the two DJs that everyone recommends (Mike P and Terry O) are both booked. I've heard good things about DiNardo Bros and was wondering if you could give me some more info. Are there any particular DJs that stand out at DiNardo? Are they expensive?
Finding a DJ has been the most stressful part of this whole process so far! Please help me!
Thank you!!

I never met up with either company but I had called DiNardo Bros and they told me it would cost an extra $250 to request a specific DJ and I didn't like how I wouldn't know who I was getting. But I ended up booking Chris Matthews who owns DJ Your Way with Chris and he's amazing. He's energetic, has a great voice and personality. I'm not sure what your budget is but he costs $1200 for 4 hours.

We booked Lou from Dynamic Crew...he varies from $750-$950 for the cocktail hour and the recepetion...so 5 hours.  My family used him for both my bat-mizvah and my brother's bar-mitzvah and he was amazing!  Everyone kept telling us how great he was...he really does interact with everyone and will ANYTHING to please the customer!  He does a lot of work in Philly, so give him a look!

We booked with Center Stage Entertainment.  We're working with Frank Jr, who is an owner, and he's been great to work with so far!  And, IMO, they were reasonably priced.

I booked with DJ's Available for my 10/9/10 wedding and picked Bishop.  I liked his energy during the showcase and felt confident that my guest would have a good time.  Can you ask them for tapes/cd's from some of their other DJ's that are available for you date?

I had VIP mobile with owner Daryl Barrnet.  I had a rocking party, He did exactly what I wanted and cost me about 1,000.  Can't recommend him enough!

I also got a quote from Synergetic Sounds and they were around $1500

Just throwing this out there in case you need additional options...

I was married last September, and I used Troy Sarro.  He works at the Sea Shell (in Beach Haven, LBI in the summers) and does weddings with the Shell's house DJ- DJ Matty.  He was fantastic, and since he and Matty own their own company, you know exactly who will be there on your day.  He was very reasonable.  I loved working with him- he was really easy going.  I was originally going to book No Macarena, because I wanted to be sure that no line dancing songs would be played.  Troy allowed me to make all of those must play/do not play lists, and if someone requested something that he wasn't sure I'd like, he just asked me.  I really loved him.

I 2nd Center Stage we are working with Sean. They were very competitive and have been great to work with. I looked into Dinardo Bros and was quoted over $1000 for a Saturday June wedding.

I just got married in November and we used DiNardo Brothers and had Mike DiNardo as our DJ.  I cannot say enough great things about him and they were more than well worth the money.  Frank Jr. from Center Stage Ent. did a friend of mine's wedding and did a great job.  For us, it was between Center Stage and DiNardo Brothers.

just wondering.. do you think it's necessary to have 2 DJs? How many are you having?

We're using Synergetic Sounds.  They're not the cheapest (also not the most exp) but come highly recommended from friends and family who have used the company before.  They send 2 DJs to your event--I feel more comfortable knowing there are two people handling the entertainment, one of the most important parts of the reception.  Now let's hope they live up to my expectations!  They also have you meet your DJ before booking, which was important to me.  Last thing I need is some random freak DJ showing up to emcee my wedding...just sayin'

My fiance is a DJ.  He is upcoming as far as his name or company being known but I can assure that he is a fantastic DJ.  He will make your wedding a real party.  His prices would be far more reasonable then most other DJ's simply because his name is not known yetbut every party that he has done people love him.  If you would like I can email info or you can contact me.

I wish you luck and Congratulations.  We are still planning our wedding and I know how fun yet stressful it can be.

We used Terry @ DJ's Available. He was wonderful. too bad he's booked on your day  :(

If you go to their website they have videos of all their DJ's in action. You might want to check it out. Maybe you'll find one you like.

Also, they only charged $650 for 5 hours.
