Questions about veils

Ok...background 32 Mixed female, 2 kids, wearing IVORY wedding gown and here lately I have been attracted to veils I am feeling looks like this but what does a blusher over the face serve?

I am just wondering if I should wear a veil or not...my sister wore a chapel length veil and I think my dad lifted her veil at the end of the aisle...hmmmmmm

I love to google and thought the blurb below would help.

I personally love the look like the one that's in your picture and the look that I will be going for. In my culture and family, we actually take the whole blusher in the face seriously meaning that it indicates a virgin bride. I could see if I walked down the aisle with a blusher over my face, I could hear my aunts in their thick Guyanese accent, " Yea right, she ain no virgin, she an the man live together". LOL...

But it's a personal decision, modern times, modern brides, do whatever they are comfortable with.

if you don't cut it out!!! um, girl i'll be nearly 45 on my wedding day and our children are in the wedding, so the jig's BEEN up. bolded has nuffin to do with nuffin. how you imagined yourself to look on your wedding day is how you shall. veils come in such an array of styles that you can do what you wanna do about it. Do you want your face covered? do you like the traditionalism of your sister's veil? do you want the kickiness of a birdcage? whatcha leaning towards?
  • @Rowena that is exactly what I was thinking that the blusher is for virgins! Chile ain't no way my grandmother is coming to me in my sleep busting me down about wearing a blusher lol. Thanks I will look at that site and see!

@Sultry buwahahahaha our children are in the wedding too. I think I want a veil for the ceremony only. I am not a fan of the birdcage EVERYONE is doing that now..I think I am wearing a birdcage for my engagement pics...we are taking a vintage shot! I loved my sister's veil though....it was very traditional and nice....I am all over the place lol...

  • I agree with what has been said. I was so against a veil because it was too traditional for me. I don't like the blusher so that's why I was against it. The bridal consultant recommended this kind. I tried it on just to please my mom and FMIL and it just added that wow factor. THAT was the moment I really felt like a bride. I have one similar to the one pictured. Cathedral length and it has crystals scattered in it. And uhh yeah me and the man live together LOL
