New Knottie and in need of help and support :((

Hi everyone! I have popped in and out of this site from time to time gathering suggestions and ideas but have never registered. My FI and I will be married towards the end of this year. We have pretty much booked our ceremony and reception venues for 120 guests. However, as of late we have been considering the idea of drastically cutting the guest list from 120 to 35 since we originally wanted a small, initmate wedding with close family and friends. I am looking forward to having the most important individuals in our lives on our wedding day but I cannot help but to feel overwhelmed and cry about starting over and looking for a suitable private place/room to hold a small dinner reception for 35 guests. If any of you girls know of places within Miami-Dade and Broward County, please let me know.. :(((

I apologize if I am overreacting but it sucks to start all over again and to hope that our new reception will be available the same day as we already set up our religious ceremony.

  • Sorry you are going through this. :( I am getting married in 2 months and have decided to do the same. I cried alot too, but now that I made the decision I am so happy.

Do you want open bar? Do you have a budget?

  • Perricones in Brickell has an awesome private area and a very reasonable price.
  • i have eaten at bot perricones and lolita, the food is amazing at both places! and they are both really pretty. hard to start over but good for you for deciding to stick to what you want and not what you feel you need...good luck!
  • CHeck out the Maxwell Room in Ft Laud, it's beautiful!
  • Thanks ladies for responding, I really appreciate it! Your help makes me feel better and relieves some of my sadness.

Would any of you ladies know of a place that may have a small space or enough space for dancing? The only thing I would want is for FI and I to have our first dance and for us to dance with our parents. If I could have that and a small reception then I will be a very happy bride :)

@Raquel S -  Thank you for responding, it makes me feel better to know that I am not the only one going thru this. I have mixed emotions because FI and I wanted a small ceremony and reception from the start but started to look forward to what we already have planned. The pressures from our families made our guest list grow and grow to 120. We are fortunate to have a suitable budget for this but deep down inside we know that we can use that money for better things (i.e., buying a home, savings) and we only want our closest family and friends to share our day with us. To us, they are the most important individuals in our lives and our day wouldn't be complete without them.

We would like to spend under 8k for the reception and I'm sure we can even save more because of the small number of guests. As far as open bar, wine and beer will be fine since half of our guests reallly do not drink.

Cherry0red - I did stumble upon this venue yesterday and it looks promising so I need to contact them asap! Would you happen to know if they have a small dance floor or an area where FI and I can dance the first dance?
