MOG/MOB Outfits

Just out of curiosity, what have yours picked out if they've gotten their outfits yet? Just trying to gather ideas for my mom :-)

Yeah my mom, sister and I are going shopping when my sister comes home in a couple weeks. My mom's just been wanting me to send her links to stuff I think she'd like lol, and my mom is extremely discerning.

My mother was FREAKED out about finding a dress. She hasn't had a dressy outfit that she really likes on her in a long time. She was very concerned about not looking dowdy, but also not looking like she was trying to look young. It is a formal wedding, so she wanted to look appropriate but she still wanted to be comfortable.

FI's mom will wear a sari- I have no idea what it looks like and probably won't until the wedding day.

My mom chose Terani couture 1160... The sleeves fit her higher on the shoulder than it shows on the model. My FMI hasnt picked / looked yet but if any of you have ideas on really affordable dresses let me know!

I've been seeing a lot of really pretty dresses on Coldwater Creek's website, many that I would wear- only a couple I know my mom would like and/or want to wear.

My mom and FMIL haven't decided yet. My mom just wants a nice church appropriate dress that's knee-length. That's all I know.

My mom tried on some dresses when we looked at BM dresses and had picked out a long dress but also rarely buys 'fancy' dresses, so she ended up not buying it. When I was home last weekend, we checked out Lord and Taylor and Macy's. We ended up finding a gorgeous short lace dress that she felt comfortable in and with possibly wearing again, so she bought it. It ended up being close to the color of the BM dresses, but I don't care as long as my mom is comfortable.

My mom and I are going to go shopping next month for hers. She doesn't want anything too "MOBish" lol

FMIL will probably wear the dress she bought for FBIL wedding and did not wear. Which is fine with me- I tried to get her to wear that one then because she looks better in it and the beaded waist band gives it a more expensive look thatn the plastic buckle she wore. It is 3/4 sleeve, knee length in black with an empire waist.

My Mom is debating. I found some nice silver and grey dresses from some department stores, but we also found some actual MOB dresses with in navy that she liked. Doubt she will want to spend that much when she see the price tags

We will go shopping after the first of the year with her and my two sisters.

My mom actually fell in love with a dress from DB that is freakishly similar to this, but black. Unfortunately according to my local store it's only available in stores on the east coast!

SSaltzman - you should check out Von Maur while your mom is in town. My sisters have both gotten MOB/MOG dresses there and they have a great selection.

We haven't found MOB or MOG dresses yet. My mom is nearly 80, so the typical MOB type dress probably won't work. We have plans to look after the first of the year at a local outlet mall.

MOG - she doesn't seem to know what she wants, other than she wants something long. She seems to think she and my mom should coordinate....I don't really think that's necessary.

My mom hasn't picked out her dress yet. She's been looking around in local stores but we might go during boxing week to see if there are any deals. FMIL to my knowledge has not picked out her outfit or so FI tells me lol Not sure if I'll be invoked in that.
