XP: Escort Cards

I am getting ready to do the escort cards and am stumped on how to do the names.  I bought the cards in the size I need them, so they're too small for a printer.  I wrote a few out, but I'm not sure I like that.  Has anyone tried doing clear labels?  Any other suggestions? TIA!

Re: XP: Escort Cards

  • After I handwrote a few of my escort cards, I wasn't too happy.  However, after I finished all of them and saw them together, they looked fine. I think clear labels could look tacky depending on the size of your escort card.  Honestly, I wouldn't worry too much about the escort cards b/c people tend to just toss them aside anyway. I'm at the point where I'm not going to stress about the tiny things that will go unnoticed. I've never once kept an escort card or paid much attention to it. HTH!

  • I will be hand writing. Unfortunately not much help, but I can't think of fighting with printers and labels at the moment.

  • I'm just going to handwrite them. I wouldn't worry about it to much. Most people wont even notice.

  • I haven't done clear labels on any escort cards but we used them for our invites and they're great!  You can barely see them.  You can get them in a variety of sizes too.

Depending on what the escort card looks like it could look good and it could look like crap.  I wouldn't suggest using them if you have any kind of boarder (embossed or printed) or any kind of design on them I would not suggest using these.  Do you have a pic or link or anything so we have a better idea what the escort cards look like?

  • I think you should just handwrite them or have a family member or friend do them for you, if you hate your own writing.

I bought the ones on a sheet to print on, so I'm not much help lol

  • I'm printing escort cards myself...so I'm just changing the names on them....I'm hoping to have 4 or 5 each sheet...
  • I agree with PPs who said just hand write them (or find someone to do them for you). I'm sure your handwriting is fine! Just don't have a friend do half of them and you do half. It'll look a lot better if they are all the same handwriting.

It is just black card stock folded in half with a piece of white card stock in the middle with the name in black in the center. It's just simple.

  • I bought escort cards from Michael's that have a template that comes with them. Also, if you go to avery.com they have templates that may fit your cards depending on your size and you can print them that way.

  • I acutally bought the blank card stock that is precut in the size of business cards from staples used the template in MS Word to lay them out and printed them all out.  Simple but I think the clear labels wouldnt look bad either.  Good Luck!  I know this is the last DIY project I am working on... couple more weeks :)
