  My guess would be that an informal note is like "Hi, I hope you and Bob are doing well. We really hope that you can make it to the wedding. We'd love to see you!" or at least, a personal note to a guest thrown into an invite? I wrote a few (I think) when I told my cousins about the kids meal options.

  Im waiting for Elizabeth: the golden age to come on (at 9), I watched Elizabeth lastnight so im really looking forward to watching the 2nd one tonight. I had never seen either.

  I'm just whining about dealing with my animals during the move. Somehow I have to shuffle around the dog, cat, chinchilla and 2 fish tanks.
  
  And I'm whining because the weather is going to be in the mid 80's this week and my apartment still hasn't turned on the stupid AC. Chinchilla's can go into heat stroke above 80 degrees and there's no one nearby with ac to baby sit her (which is another story that I'm not going into).

  She's getting a fan and lots and lots of cold granite, so hopefully that will see her through. She's going to my parents house on the 18th so she just needs to go for 2 weeks until AC is a permanent part of her life.
  
  I'm just annoyed because sil lives 2 miles away...and has ac...but dh thinks she won't be willing to babysit her even for 2 days.

  informals are personal stationery.
  
  Folded over if for a female, with the name or monogram on the front
  
   A man's is of heavier paper  and and is monogramed at the top, never full name.
  
  They are just used for personal correspondence such as condolence notes, traditional replies to wedding and other invitations.
  
  i have no idea why they are called 'informals'
