So today I went into my ortho for a standard retainer check. He said my teeth look really good and asked if I'd be home for the summer since he wouldn't need to see me for 6 months. I said I'm getting married the week of June so I'll be home. He said congratulations then told me to bite down again to see my teeth. He asked me if I wanted them bleached. I said I'd like to (I was hesitant because I couldn't pay for it right now). He said well I'll do it for ya. That's your wedding present from me! I'm so excited! I've used Crest whitestrips and they work well for at home strips but I've wanted them professionally whitened forever!

Congrats! FI and I are defintely going to be doing some whitening too, his may be professional, while mine will be the strips, unless my insurance is good (just got it, not sure of all my benefits).

I went to the dentist yesterday! That's awesome that he will do it for you! I asked about the different whitening procedures and I'm thinking about doing custom trays with the gel.

That's awesome! I can't stand crest strips...my teeth get super sensitive and it really bothers me. I might have to just suck it up and try it again for the wedding

That's exciting!

I'm due to go to the dentist in March I think. I'm going to ask my dentist then about getting the gel. I already have the teeth trays, and I think that's the expensive part. I would love to just do the in-office treatment to get it over with, but that's probably rediculously expensive. Whatever I do though, I won't be drinking anything colored after that!

What a nice dentist! I want to get mine done before the wedding too, but it can be pretty pricey. I've found some great deals on Groupon, but I'm a little hesitant to go through a dentist I don't know.

That's a nice gift. FI and I will be doing it also. His mom is a receptionist at a dentist's office so I think we only have to pay for the kit ($99) to get it done in the office. She may have said she will be buying us the kit, I'm not sure, but either way it's a bonus to have her arranging all of that for us.
