We aren't having one. But when our guests get to the reception venue the bar will be open and then food will open just before we get there.

Ours was a blast... We were able to have it outdoors, and we brought lawn games for people to play while mingling. I was so excited to see people playing the games in their fancy clothes

We were also really excited to get the photos done quickly and be able to join our guests for the cocktail hour. We did not do a first look, but we were still able to get there for half of the cocktail hour. That was something I was sort of worried about, but it worked out!

So no worries, ladies without first looks... it can be done!!

We'll miss it. But I don't care. Let people mingle, drink, and have some apps while we go off and have photos taken. There will be plenty of food at dinner.

We're having our wedding at an art museum, so guests can check out the exhibits during cocktail hour :-) And there will be drinks and apps of course!

We are having one (open bar, cold apps on display, hand passed hot apps) for an hour. We don’t plan to attend, since we will be doing photos…and I am ok with that.

The guitar/violin duo we hired for the ceremony will be playing background music.

We're having "hors d'oeuvres hour" instead of "cocktail hour" (dry wedding)

Ceremony from 11-11:45, receiving line until 12:15, pictures with H and BP
hors d'oeuvres at 1pm for the guests - hopefully H and I will be able to tag on there towards the end. I think we will, because our photographer said that he likes to get "candid" shots of us just mingling and hanging out with our guests as opposed to masses and masses of posed shots, so I'm really excited for that

(also not doing a first look)

stationary & passed hors d'oeuvres w/ open bar featuring signature cocktails. FI & I will miss out but the wait-staff will bring us some hors d'oeuvres and drinks so we won't miss that! The string trio we hired for the ceremony will also play cocktail hour. They're doing all cover songs - very VSQ! I am a little sad we'll miss that part!
