Friday night wedding?

Hi
We're considering a Friday night wedding for about 75 people.  Has anyone had an experience with a FRI wedding and was it good or bad?  Thanks!

My wedding was a Friday night and we didn't have anyone complaining. However, we were conscious of our guests work schedules and had our ceremony start at 7pm. Feel free to message me if you have any further or specific questions.

I've been to a few Friday night weddings and am having mine on a Friday in 3 months.  Other than using a vacation day I have enjoyed them and have gotten good feedback on it.  I don't feel like my whole weekend is shot.  It's also nice b/c you can have a later ceremony and go right to the reception so there isn't that big wait in between the two (maybe that's only an issue for Catholic ceremonies).   And most vendors give Friday discounts!

The only issue would be if you have a lot of out of town guests...which we do, but everyone has told us they'll be there!

I say go for it!  Good luck  :)

I think its not a bad idea, although it does help if most of your guests are local. I live in Chicago now and I haven't been able to go to a couple Friday weddings in GR because I didn't have the vacation time or couldn't travel. So I would just keep that in mind. Otherwise it should work fine!

My DD is having a Friday night wedding.  We haven't had anyone say they can't make it because it is a Friday.  I like the idea of being able to schedule something on Saturday with the OOT guests after the rush of the wedding is over and giving us a time to actually visit.  My DD and her FI and planning a golf outing for Saturday for anyone that is interested.

We're having a Friday wedding in the UP (we live in GR).  FI is from Flint, so all of his family has to travel up there.  I didn't want people to come to our wedding on Saturday & have to get up a the crack of dawn on Sunday to drive the 7-10 hours back downstate with hangover.  Saturday will be a chill day to just hang out with everyone after the excitement of the wedding.
