So how did you...

So how did you figure out what was the right jewelery to wear w/ your dress?
Did you bring any jewelery w/ you to your fittings? How in the world do you figure it out? I just can't envision what would go?

Secondly, where did ya buy your wedding shoes from?
What size heel did you wear and were your tootsies screamin' by the end of your wedding?

I bought two necklaces that were similar (the "Y" look) but were different stones and brought them to a fitting.  I looked for what I liked....plus, you can get ideas from the net if you see pics of dresses similiar to yours...and I asked others opinions also as to the type of necklace.

I bought mine from either shoes.com or endless.com I don't remember which as I ordered from both.  I got flats b/c I am already taller than my hubby and so i didn't want to be even taller.  My shoes were dyeable and got dyed ivory to match my dress and were ruined during pictures.  That is ok b/c I had bought these adorable slippers from LLBean (felt with a rose on the front in ivory) to wear for dancing...and the floor was so slippery I ended up dancing barefoot.  Two of my BMs also ordered the slippers in navy cuz they just happened to have the color that matched their dress ;)

i borrowed a necklace from my MOH, and my earrings were a gift from my father. my biggest decision was my hairpiece, which took forever to find.

for shoes i ordered mine from zappos. i wore purple flats (sandals actually). i'm not much of a heal girl so i knew that if i tried to wear heals i would last about an hour and then have issues with my dress being too long when i went to flats, so i didn't even bother lol

I personally have an eye for this kind of thing so it's easier for me. Can you show us a pic of your dress and we can help you?

I looked at pictures of dresses similar to mine to see what the models and other brides wore.  Then I shopped around and found that buying jewelry in a bridal store is much more expensive then at the mall so I went to JC penney and got mine on clearance for about $20 for it all.

I bought my shoes at David's Bridal.  They had a 3.5" heel.  All the reviews said they were the most comfortable high heels the person had ever worn.  They were right. I had them on all night, danced every song at the reception and had no pain at all.

At the bridal shop they should have some jewelry you could try on to get an idea of the "style" you want. Also, after I had my hair trial I tried on a bunch of different sizes of earrings I had at home to see around which size I liked the best. Then after I had a rough idea of what I wanted, I went on a search for the exact design I wanted. Then I purchased my jewelry before my first fitting to make sure I liked it when I put it together.

The shoes I fell in love with were Filippa Scott and they were $425! No way I could afford that.

My bridal shop told me to check online for them because they were much cheaper than in the stores.  I went to their USA Online Store and was able to purchase them for $155! They were awesome, had really comfortable padding and I was able to wear them all night dancing and mingling and my feet didn't hurt at all. I think my heels were 2 1/2" (I am tall as it is) This is the site: http://usa.filippascott.com/catalog/products.php Good Luck!

I found some pieces at Nordstrom and brought them to try on with my dress.  My dress had an interesting neckline so I didn't wnat to do a necklace too.  I ended up getting earrings at the bridal shop.  The saleslady was able to show me a few that really worked well with the dress.
I got my shoes from a little shop in Westwood NJ.  The heel was not very high but I also got higher flip flops at Old Navy and wore those for most of the reception.

I actually got my jewelry before I got my dress!

But, when you try on dresses, most stores have jewelry you can try on with it. Even if it's not the piece you go with, it helps to see how different necklaces look with different necklines.

    Good luck!

But you can even look around yourself to see how you feel about wearing diamonds, pearls or gemstones. You need to feel comfortable in whatever you decide. Have fun shopping!

My bridal shop showed me some ideas for jewelry and shoes and i wound up getting the earrings and shoes from them!
Other than that, I wore a diamond bracelet that FI had gotten me a few years ago on a birthday and that's it!

Ok Jaimie as requested see below BUT I'm such an idiot I tried to paste the pic in here - I'm SO not tech saavy.

Here's the link so you can see the pic. I orginally had the same dress I think as SSage Casablanca 1918 -- I changed my mind and went w/ Casablanca 1914.

Here's hoping the link comes thru! First link is a close up of the top ... 2nd link is what the whole gown looks like. I'm wearing white. My headpiece has crystals and my veil has lace that matches the lace in the dress. The lace on the veil is along the edging (sort of like framing my face)  I have a pic of my headpice in my phone but I don't know how to do mobile uploads. Good God! I'm useless I tell you <haha /> Thanks for your help ladies.

That dress is sooo pretty! Congrats!

I'm not big into jewelry, but I think if you went with a Y-shape, people would spend a lot of time with their eyes at your chest area. (So you might want to save that for the wedding night! lol!)

Other than that "don't" tip, I'm not much help.

But it's a really pretty dress!

yup..it was me you had the same dress as.

maybe you do a similar necklace to what the model has....a chain with something dangling....or what about something closer to the neck...not a choker but closer....

I think it depends on what kind of jewelery u like..

I like big earrings, so I opted not to wear a necklace but to wear long earrings.
