Florist Help! FoSTL and FoOL are Booked! :(

Hi all,

I am looking into florists for my wedding on 7/30/11, and I first contacted Flowers on Orchard Lane and Flowers on Springtree Lane because they have been so highly recommended on The Knot!  Unfortunately, both are booked!  :(  FoOL recommended Daisy Basket (out of UA) and The Floral Design Studio (out of Hilliard) as alternatives, and I have meetings set up with them next week.  Does anyone have any thoughts on them or on other florists that I can contact?  I definitely want the flowers to look nice, but our wedding is unfortunately going to be huge, so I need someone that's affordable as well.

Thanks so much for your help, ladies!!

I went with bloomtastic in Upper Arlington.  Not sure if she is booked for your date.  She was very reasonable and her flowers are beautiful. Good Luck!

We went with Jill at Flowers on High in Worthington.  She is such an awesome person to work with and makes great suggestions on the best use and re-use (for the reception) of the floral arragements. Good Luck!

Check out Tara with Bella Couture Events.  I had the same issue as you and then I met Tara and was sooo happy and excited, she's great and really listens to what you want.

I second dustalou. At one point she wasn't taking weddings for this spring, but July may be far enough out. We really liked her, but she wasn't available our date. We also liked (and ended up going with) Elegant Touch in Dublin.

While although we used FOOL, I also met with Bloomtastic and the Daisy Basket and the Daisy Basket would have been my second choice. Daisy Basket would have given more flowers than Bloomtastic and would have been less expensive than them as well. I have also heard good things about Rose Bredl, although I didn't meet with them.

I am using Pristine Petals (Sarah). She works out of her home (no overhead costs!) so her prices were great and she's very accessible.  She'll meet with you as many times as you need to get exactly your 'vision' for what you want for the big day.

We are using Hilliard Forist for our flowers.  I showed her pics of what I liked and they had great ideas to make what I had in mind even better!  We met with both Hilliard Forist and DeSantis Florist and they quoted us almost the exact same price.  DeSantis also does great work, just their pictures seem like their all from 1980 but I'm sure they would have done what we wanted just fine.

Thanks for all of the suggestions ladies!  I have met with Petals and Leaves, The Flowerman (don't think I'm going to do DIY though), The Floral Design Studio, and The Daisy Basket.  I have an appt. coming up with All in Bloom.  Bloomtastic is unfortunately booked on our date as well.

Any other thoughts on any of the above florists?  Bloomtastic referred me to Flower Galaxy, who asked where I'd heard about them when I called.  As soon as I mentioned Bloomtastic, the man I spoke with said "Oh, did you hear about how they totally forgot about a bride's wedding and never came?" Pretty weird considering they're giving him business.  Don't think I'll be going with them.  :/
