  don't have a lot of activity on here either, but hello! i went and looked at her photography and it looks good. my only concern is that it doesn't seem as if she has a lot of wedding experience. i would ask if she could show you a full wedding or if there's other work she's not showcasing to give you a little piece of mind.
  
  i will say that her technical skills seem good from the appearance of her portfolio.
  
  you might also consider rebecca arthurs. she has that same vintage-y soft feel to some of her work. that's who we're going with.

  I saw that you were inquiring about Malia Cano Photography.  I have used Malia as my photographer and absolutely love her.  She pays an incredible attention to detail, especially those that untrained eye would miss out on. She is extremely patient and gives great direction, and yet still is able to take the best pictures without having to pose you.  Although she was not my wedding photographer, she was my official Family photographer after I was crowned Mrs. Hawaii.  My husband, who absolutely hates to take pictures, came out looking fantastic and my two children have these great photos of them to look back on.  I was so impressed that she showed up to the shoot with not just one idea, but several ideas of what she had in mine for my family.  She did her research on what I wanted and incorporated it into our shoot.  I couldn't have been more happier with my results and plan to continue to use her for future shoots.   If your looking for a warm, intimate and memorable photographer, I would suggest that you contact Malia.  Congratulations on your engagement and best of luck in your wedding plans!

  I actually did decide to go ahead and book with her, even before seeing your responses, but now I feel even better about it. I do love her style from what I can see, and after more emails back and forth, I definitely see what you mean, Leimanaf! She's been really quick to respond, and even took initiative to ask me to send her an invitation so she can photograph that. I can tell she pays attention to detail. The reason I ended picking her over more well-known Oahu photogs is that although the other took beautiful photos as well, many of them didn't seem as focused on how the people in the photo look. They pay more attention to the overal artistic composition and  scenery. Malia seemed to have both the style and also the ability to photograph people beautifully.
