Bridesmaid Dresses

What kinda of bridesmaids do you guys think look nicer!? Floor length, or shorter?
I'm trying to figure out what kind of dress I want my girls to where! Any ideas would be appreciated!!

It depends on a couple things. First, how formal is your wedding? The bridal party should be amongst the best-dressed people there, so you don't want them in casual short dresses if the female guests will probably wear fancy long gowns. But most weddings in this area seem to just call for a nice cocktail dress, from what I've attended anyway.

Second, it depends on what THEY find comfortable and flattering. Maybe they have a preference. Talk to them and see, and take a vote if they all can't agree on one length. Let them try on some dresses and see what looks nice, and then go from there.

Also, be sure to talk to each girl in private about her budget. Fancier gowns = more money. Get a budget from each girl, then go by the lowest quote (or chip in some money to help out, if someone's budget is too low for what you want) and look for dresses in that price range.

Definitely take into consideration the weather/time of year. If your wedding is going to be in the winter, please don't make them wear short dresses, and provide pashminas if you are going to take photos outdoors.

My wedding is in Sept so I guess long or short goes with the weather. Also, the wedding will def be Formal. Soo  I agree that Long would probably look more formal over short. I've been trying to find a dress that everyone can use again. SO many of the dresses are dresses that people really could only use to be a bridesmaid and thats not what i want. If the girls are spending money I want them to be able to use it again. My maid of honor says that this probably wont be possible if I go with a long dress. What do you think?

My wedding is also September and my girls are wearing long dresses.

It's really up to what you want to do though.

We are doing long dresses with a formal reception as well but the girls all wanted to wear long anyway.

If you are looking into something they can wear again think outside of the "bridesmaid" box and look at evening dresses.

My wedding is in July but my girls all requested long dresses. That made it easy...also it's what I would have picked for them. I am also having a more formal affair.
