Gallipos Bridal

Does anyone have any real experience with Gallipos? I have read horrible reviews(but it seemed like they were all the same person). Does anyone know what price range their gowns are? Or what designers they carry? Or anything about them? My wedding is in August I went to Atlas and Jans bridal in delta. All the gowns were reasonable and the service was pretty good but I just didnt fall in love with anything.

I got married in 2007, so I was looking in 2006, back then House of Hilton was still open (so sad it closed)  That is where I got my wedding dress, I loved everything about them.

I did try dresses on at Gallippos and I was not impressed.  I told the girl my budget was no more than $1500, she continued bringing me dresses clearly out of my budget, like $2500-$3000.  Then she kept giving me stuff I didn't like, I told her my style, but didn't listen to me at all.  She say, oh, we just got this in and I'm dying to see someone in it.  Okay???  well, I'm not here to model, I was serious dress shopping.  Needless to say, I never went back and the dress I had fallen in love with was at House of Hilton anyways.  The girl I got at Gallippos was really, really young though and maybe just inexperience.  A lot of people don't like it there, but order from there because they carry a designer that other stores locally do not.  But I honestly haven't heard many rave reviews about them.

I had a friend who got a dress there (a sample, I think?) and had a good experience.  My mom went their just to look at MOB dresses and had a BAD experience.  They are extremely hit or miss service-wise.  I'd say you've got nothing to lose by going there, as long as you know that some people have had not so good experiences and you aren't expecting it to be wonderful.

Also, I don't know if you're opposed to David's Bridal, but I had a really great experience there.  So, don't rule them out just because you've heard some not so great things about them either.  I loved my dress from there!

Abbey I actually had a bad experience at the toledo davids bridal, but my sister had a good one at the cleveland one..I think they can be hit or miss too.

i got my wedding dress there. it was a Watters and Watters dress and i paid $750.... they do seem to be priced a little more than other places but they do price match if another bridal shop has the same dress cheaper. i really liked the girl that helped me there, she didnt bring me anything out of my price range to try on like alot of other places do... so far i am having a good experiance but im keeping my fingers crossed because i have heard bad things as well.... good luck! i think they are worth checking out.

I went there to try on dresses and had a great experience.  They have a wide range of prices. The lady I had was super helpful and the fitting room was very nice.  I told her my price range and she didn't bring anything out of it.  I did find a dress I really like, but didn't end up getting it.  My big pet peeve is that they won't tell you the designer so you can't price shop.  Also, I work near Gallippos and I have stopped in there randomly and they had a lot of accessories 75% off.  I would give them a try!

I ended up getting my dress at Atlas and had a great experience there as well. :)

    Have fun dress shopping.

I didn't shop there, but I went with my sister when she did.  It was a pretty good experience, but we too were annoyed by the "secret" designers.  I know they are not the only bridal shop to do this, but it still doesn't make it right.  They take the designer tags out of the dress and I believe they wouldn't allow us to take pictures.

Also I had a horrible experience at David's Bridal (but loved the dress I tried on so I got it there anyways) but I have heard girls on this board who had the same consultant and loved her.  So once again, hit or miss!

I had a great experience there! The ladies were extremely helpful. We made an appointment late on a Saturday and there was only one other bride in there when we went. I didnt' have to wait for a fitting room or anything. They even stayed open later to let me try on more dresses without rushing me at all.
Also - people have mentioned the sales people bringing them dresses over their budget.. but when I went they let me walk freely through the racks to pick out the dresses I wanted to try on. Yes, they also picked a few for me but they weren't crazy over my budget or anything. I also didn't think the dress prices were too unreasonable.
I did not end up getting my dress from there (different story/different reason unreleated to Gallippos), but I would definitely recommend going there to see what they have to offer.

I was there recently, and bought my dress there. I went despite the horrible reviews everywhere about the salon. The owner (I forget her name) helped me and she was amazing. I got a great deal on my dress-- 10% off since it was a sample (even though it was brand new and I was the only one to try it on) and 10% off since I bought on my first visit to the salon. Plus I get a discount on anything else I'd want to buy there, since that's where I purchased my dress. I honestly don't have a single thing to complain about regarding my experience there.

Atlas and David's Bridal, on the other hand... would not recommend. At. All. But as this board shows, everyone seems to have different experiences.

My sister got her wedding dress there a couple years ago, so I tried it out too.  I have gone there twice this past year and have another apt set for 3pm tomorrow.  I love the dresses because I like to steer away from dresses that everyone has.  David's bridal scares me sometimes because my SIL got her dress there and 3 other people from the same town had the same dress.  Nightmare for me, but some may not care.

The pricing will fit you.  My budget is under $2,000 and they had plenty plenty of dresses. The dress I love is 1,100, but if you buy it with cash or check they give it to you for 10% off.  So the dress that I fell inlove with is only $900ish.  I think that is reasonable for a wedding gown.  So they will fit your budget and Yvonne (the owner) Is so friendly and will do anything you want to a dress to make it yours!

    I give Gallipos an A+!!

I hope I'm not too late to this party. I actually bought my dress there! I had a wonderful experience. I went with 3 of my bridesmaids and I'm sure any place would hve just thought, oh, she's there to try on dresses and leave. But we picked out a bunch. Their selection is amazing and they are sorted into styles, which helped me SO much! When I wanted to try something similar to another dress, they rushed out and got me exactly what I was thinking about. I actually found my dream dress there and it wasn't at all what I was expecting since I wanted to try something from each different style. They're very mindful of budgets and even gave me a discount. It's not a place for everyone, especially someone who wnats people to follow them around the shop and comment on every dress, but I loved it. I'm heading back in a few days to make my final payment.

Gallipos is a wonderful place. I just went a couple of weeks ago and found my dress there for my June 10th wedding. They take lots of time with you and they really try to help you find something within your budget. They also can alter ANYTHING! Add items/or take away from your dress and help you make it your dream gown. I highly recommend them and so do many of my friends. I got my dress for a little over $600.00 which I didn't think was bad at all.

I hope this helps you in your search
