Important dress decision - HELP!!! :)

Oookkk....

So, I'm thinking about adding straps to my dress. For two reasons - 1. Obviously, I'll feel more supported and 2. My FI is not really into the strapless look at all. I know that may sound weird and people will say.. as long as you like it, wear whatever you want... but I AM marrying him. I'm sure he'd still think I look beautiful, but I'm starting to think straps on this might look really pretty! My question is... should I leave it alone, and keep it strapless, add just thin, plain ivory straps or add lace straps??? Here's a pic... Let me know your thoughts!

I'm curious to know what the lace straps look like... is there a pics somewhere with a dress that has what you are thinking of getting?

I'm thinking the lace straps would look nice (so that's what I voted for)... would it be the same lace as in your dress?

I'm not sure how to vote. I like the dress the way it is but if you'd be more comfortable then you should go with straps. Would you do two straps or make it a halter?

I picked lace straps. If you use lace similar to your dress it'll look really nice. My FI is like yours and not big on the strapless look. I have a dress with lace straps plus I don't want to be tugging at the dress all night.

I am not sure how to vote either. Are there any pics? I do feel that if you are more confortable with straps, you should go fo it.

Yes... there is like 20 feet of lace they're taking off the bottom since I'm barely 5' tall hahaa!!! They would use that lace to make me straps!

Lindsay can I see a pic of your dress??? Have you posted one?

I haven't posted any pics of it =( it's getting made and the lady told my mom that the top was finally attached to the bottom. I have a fitting on the 17th and it should be done by then and then I'm gonna AW it up!!

Also, want to get together for a drink on the 17th after my fitting? I'll be in the brandon area but can go wherever

My FI doesn't like strapless tank tips and I never even asked about strapless for a wedding dress....which mine is, but I think it he was to tell me he didn't like it on. Wedding dress I would add some. Are you going with regular straps or maybe the off the shoulder cap sleeve style straps?

I voted for lace straps. I think a solid ivory will look weird but the lace would be beautiful.

I think thin plain ivory straps would look wierd, but if it were a little thicker and lace it could look awesome.

What style of straps are you thinking? I'm not sure of you would be interested in a style like this, but I'm having cap sleeves like this added to my dress.

I've also seen a ton of gorgeous one shoulder styles that would look great with your dress.

I would say add straps if you feel comfortable and your FI likes straps. I really tussled with purchasing a dress. I love fashion my FI is very plain. My FI requested he see my legs and I wanted a long dress.

This is what I came up with... Sorry, I haven't taken a picture of me in the dress. Mine is white.

Oh, I can't decide!
I think that it looks great the way it is! But, if you would be more comfortable with straps then I say go for the lace! My biggest fear for myself is being uncomfortable in a wedding dress for 8hrs, so I say do what makes you happy and comfy!!
