Guest List Woes - Vent!

I am about to burst!

So - we have an 80 guest list maximum. That's it. We've invited 80ish people already (I have a count - but the paper isn't here..don't wory..I'm not just randomly inviting people and not counting!) - but my grandma is giving my dad a hard time because we didn't invite relatives that I haven't seen since I was a toddler!...such as distant cousins! I want to just be like "LEAVE HIM ALONE HE HAD NOTHING TO DO WITH THE GUEST LIST" Lol

She's being a biscuit about the bridal shower as well. My mom offered to have one for me, but I opted out. I don't need one, I don't need my mom to be so stressed about it - not a big deal after I gave it some thought..but now my grandma is putting pressure on my mom to have one.  (She's my dad's parent, fyi). My mom is like "WHY DOESN'T SHE OFFER TO HAVE IT??" Lol.

Apparently I just do not get along well with old ladies...

    Either you or your dad needs to (politely) tell her to back off. Let her know that the guest list is a done deal and it's not open for discussion.

    And, yeah, I'm liking the phrase biscuit too. It's going to be my word of the day and I'm going to try to use it.

    I'm totally calling my FI a biscuit now and for the rest of his life.

    hahahahahahaha BISCUIT. that's amazing. I am stealing that now.

    But yea, tell her to back off. Unless she is hosting the wedding (which it doesn't sound like she is) the guest list is off limits to her. And like you said, if she cares so much about the shower, she should just host it.

    I love the word biscuit, totally stealing it as well! 

    I agree that if she cares that much about the shower, she can throw it! Also you are hosting the wedding and 80 people is your max, so oh well its not like she is throwing you money along with the names of people to include.

    Thanks ladies. I had one convo with my grandma about the guest list - but that was a few weeks ago - thought things were settled. Apparently not!

    I stole biscuit from FI, so I have to give him credit for it.
