Thoughts on Brave Combo at a wedding?

Hopefully y'all know who I'm talking about! Surely, there are some Dentonites who will know where I'm coming from...

Because FI's parents are long time friends of several of the Brave Combo band members, they've offered us a pretty good deal to hire them for our wedding. It's still about 2.5 times our DJ budget, but much less than we expected. It will be tough, but we could rearrange some expenses to make it work.

FI, FI's family, my family and a few close friends think we'd be crazy to pass up the opportunity. And don't get me wrong, I love dancing to them at the Arts and Jazz fest and Oktoberfest, but for some reason I'm hesitating to want them at my wedding...

Honestly, it's not really my decision; FI is in charge of music... but I'd like to get your opinions on the idea.

    I have a friend who had them play her wedding, and she raves about how much fun it was. If it's something you can swing financially, and you are comfortable having "that" kind of party, I'd say go for it.

    You know that nobody would forget it... Not many people get grammy-winning artists to play at their weddings...

    I would book them in a heartbeat!  When we were planning I told H that at my dream wedding Harry Connick Jr would play during dinner and Brave Combo would play for dancing :-) 

    And like Almoyo said, they are Grammy winners!  You could have a Grammy award winning band play at your wedding!

    I love Brave Combo!  They play at West fest and people always have a great time.  I went to a Czech wedding with a polka band and we had a GREAT time!  The dance floor was full the entire night (even though the majority of the guest's weren't Czech).

    Ok, I'm convinced! We've always wanted them, so I don't really know why I was worried... I think since we were under the impression that we'd never get them, it was kinda hard to change gears...

    Now I just don't want to get my hopes up until it's all finalized! I really can't handle so many things being not finalized. :)
