Valentine's Day

Are you ladies doing anything special for your guy or vice versa that you know of? This is our last v-day as non married couples, yay!

This will be FI and I's 7th valentine's day together and i really dont feel like doing the usual out to dinner thing...

Suggestions, what are you doing, if anything??
Thanks ladies!

Re: Valentine's Day

  • We just had our dating anniversary so FI did the whole romance thing then.

We decided to not do any gifts this year, since we're saving for the wedding. I am going to do cutesy stuff for him though that weekend. Nothing too special, just cooking a really nice dinner and baking some cookies or something.

  • I didn't even think of the fact that this will be our last unmarried V-day!! FI and I were going to skip it because we have a super tight budget since we just bought a house, now I'm reconsidering! lol  Maybe I'll suggest we go to some of our favorite spots and reminisce or something cheap ha!

Thanks for reminding me! Hope everyone else has a great day!
I've loved you since I was 8 years old...

  • We really haven't talked about it yet, but I have told him he better not be buying me any gifts. I will probably make him cookies or cupcakes maybe. My birthday is the night before and we are going out with friends so probably nothing that involves spending money, which I am fine with.
  • We're going out for dinner to our favourite (and really expensive) restaurant. I don't think we're doing gifts.

  • We have reservations at a nice restaurant we've been wanting to try.  I don't think we are going to do gifts, but I kinda wanted to surprise him with a sexy nighty or something like that ;-) Going out to dinner at this restaurant is extra motivation at the gym because I would love to wear this one dress that I used to be able to wear and haven't been able to since last fall.  So, we'll see how that goes!!

  • We are not planning on doing anything.  I am not a huge fan of Valentine's Day.  I feel that you should be showing your love for your SO everyday.  But that's just me.  Plus there are way too many people that go out to dinner and flowers cost way too much.

  • Yeah FI and I aren't big Vday fans. We don't usually do anything that day. There are too many others out and the gifts and flowers are so expensive. Sometimes we go out to dinner and a movie the weekend before/after. Vday is just SO commercialized as the day to show your love but we should be doing that all year long!

  • I'm probably just going to make dinner and we will stay in. I think we are trying to scale back since we are paying for a wedding and all that.

  • Coffee from the Starbucks where we first met. Dinner either at our fave restaurant or takeout while snuggled on the couch and watching dorky movies. No gifts because that's not how we roll.

  • I agree with Cathy, I never liked Valentine's day, especially as a single person and I promised I would never force my significant other to buy me stuff on a made up holiday. Now with that being said, we started dating in late February so we  still get the benefit of chocolate hearts and stuff Wink
  • We are doing the usual out to dinner thing lol we always go the Sat. before v day to avide the crowds and its easier to get my dad to babysit our daughter.
  • We are probably going to go out to dinner the weekend before since I might be teaching cake decorating class that night.  Plus I don't like that most restaurants do price fixed menus on the actual day.

  • Probably nothing! Like PPs I really don't like Valentine's Day. I think it's such a disappointing holiday after having Halloween/Thanksgiving/Christmas. I also can't stand girls who put too much pressure on their SO to make it "romantic" and then get disappointed. I guess I just think it's a cheesy holiday. I'll get FI a video game and he'll get me chocolate covered strawberries.
