    "Feast" is a level of celebration used by the church pertaining to different special days and dedication.  Has nothing to do with weddings, nor anything to do with eating.

    There are optional memorials of saints, Required Memorials, Feasts, and Solemnities.
    (perhaps other I'm forgetting).

    Thank you for the reminder, Oot!  I've had a special devotion to our Lord's Sacred Heart since I was a teenager.  During my preparation for Confirmation (and due to the influence of attending my best friend's Protestant church camp!), I determined I wanted to develop more of a personal relationship with God the Son.  I understood God the Father but had never felt particularly close to Jesus.  He helped me do this through discovering His Sacred Heart, and I took the Confirmation name of Margaret in honor of St. Margaret Mary Alacoque, to whom He first revealed the Sacred Heart.

    For those interested in prayers to commemorate this month, I like this site:
    "Do not fear, for I have redeemed you; I have called you by name; you are Mine!" (Isaiah 43:1)
