Wedding Recap and Withdrawal

Day Of Questions

Hey Ladies! I am 36 days away from saying "I Do"! I'm trying to get organized for the day of, but I'm having trouble coming up with things to help organize.

I have a list of my vendors and contact information and the times that they are supposed to be there but is there anything else that you wish you had organized before the wedding?

This is not something that I wished I did, but something that I did and it helped out a lot. I made a list of everything that needed to be set-up and where it should be set-up. I had coordinators at my venue that did our set-up and that way they didn't have to bug me with questions about everything. This would also come in handy if you are having friends or famiily help you the day-of.

Also, make a list ahead of time of everything that you need to bring with you to the venue. That way when you're running around in the days leading up to your wedding you aren't forgetting anything.

  • I agree with Casey. Organization is key and your coordinator and/or vendors needs to know exactly how you want things done.

    Happy Planning!
  • Have a very specific shot list for your photographer with examples of pictures you want and names of people you want in pictures.   Tell him how long you have to take the pictures (when you want to be done by) and go over it with him.  Come up with a plan for which ones will be taken first so it can go by efficiently.

Make a schedule for hair/make up etc in the morning.  Go over it with your hairdresser and make up artist so everyone is on the same page.

Give all of your wedding attendants a list of vendors and other attendant phone numbers so everybody has all the contact info.
  • I had a print out of my floor plan and favors separated into bags based on the table and. I also did this for my escort cards. My DOC took care of everything. I would also give some important vendors an different number where they can reach you.
  • Thank you for posting this  Iwas wondering the exact same thing!
  • Super helpful info, thanks for asking this!

  • I made lists for what I needed to take with me for the rehearsal (to give the venue / gifts for wp) and what I needed for the day of (including jewlery, shoes...etc).
The print out of the table set up is a good idea...wish we'd done that.
My photographer had a list of all the pictures I wanted, but I wish I'd printed it out myself to go over .. also make sure you touch base with your dj and have a mustc list.
    Congratulations. Good luck!!

  • Great tips.

I haven't used it yet because my wedding is still to come but I am actually working up a week of schedule to ensure that big things don't get forgotten. Like I plan to go with family to get my dress Wedneday, the mom's have trail hair appts Thursday, we need to make OOT bags, rehearsal and dinner on Friday, set up at the church, etc.
  • I first made a list of everything going to the venue. Then packed it in the box and checked it off the list as it was packed. On the list I marked if the item was to come back home again for the DOC. She set up everything according to my lists. She packed everything at the end of the night according to the lists.

I knew everything I needed for the day of and had that packed and ready to go a week in advance.

To the venue: Things like escort cards, escort card holders, favors, toasting flutes, a bottle of wine and wine glasses (for our wine sharing ceremony) 100 votive candles, and a lighter. A little "Love is Sweet" sign I made for our sweet table. I made "bride" and "groom" place cards... Programs... Stuff like that you need to get packed ASAP...

I also had all of the gifts lined up on Friday and ready to go to the RD. I packed them up in my car right after we all had our nails done then we went to the rehersal then the dinner.

Good luck, very exciting, you're getting close!
