Getting in shape?

Anyone trying to loose weight before their wedding...i feel this is a silly question b/c the bride stereotype is that we are trying to slim way down.  I'm trying tone at this point.  With yesterday being 91 days till the wedding i started p90x (borrowed from a friend).  So far so good.

To think when i first got engaged i had the aspiration of running a 1/2 marathon...my boobs got in the way of that.  I believe that big boobed girls are just not ment to run!

So, are u trying to lose weight?  what are you doing?  Where do you want to tone the most?

I have been working out - I actually started last year before I was engaged (I had a wedding in Hawaii).  Then this year I need to change up my routine so I'm doing the P90X also.  I hated it for the first 2 weeks but now I love it.  It really does work.  I would like to be more toned all over and I'm getting really close to being there I've  definitely noticed a change.  My FI is also doing P90X and that makes it easier to stick with the workouts and eating healthy.

    Good Luck!

I am definitely trying to lose weight.  My dress is a lot tighter now than it was when I first bought it.  I am trying to get back to my old exercise regiment (I got really lazy there for awhile) and watching what I eat.

I want to try P90x, how are you liking it?

I am trying to maintain my weight.  Over the past year and a half I lost a lot of weight quickly so I am just trying to keep myself at my current weight (give or take 5 pounds). I mainly just watch what I eat and try to stay moderately active (walks, swimming, etc) as a big boobed girl, myself I second the notion that running sucks.

I am going to start P90X around the beginning of August and see how I like it.  It will probably be miserable for a while but I hope it helps me tone!

Just been doing the old diet and exercise bit.  I have lost 15lbs so far.  My fiance is doing P90X and I would love to do it but since we live an hour from each other I am going to have to do it after the wedding.  Poo! :(

I've been doing Slim 4 Life since January and within four months had lost 30 lbs but I've been stuck since then and needed more so a few weeks ago I joined a gym.  I really just want to tone up now.  I have a personal trainer and am still on the diet.  Ugh.  Big boobs are annoying working out too, always bouncing around.

I've actually been feeling really down on myself about this lately. I was doing awesome with just watching what I eat and working out on the treadmill. But then I changed my focus to toning, which worked for awhile. Annoyingly, at that time I started traveling for work and now I'm stuck. I still try to watch what I eat, but it's so much harder when you're not home. The hotel gym only has treadmills and hand weights, so I've lost my toning exercises. Maybe I need to look into this P90X thing? Can anyone tell me what it is, or maybe have any other advice ot offer? I've got 47 days and I'm finally ready to actually make myself stick to something.

I have been having a hard time really sticking to something, and my wedding is still almost a year away now so I keep telling myself there is time.  I think my biggest problems are that I'm an emotional eater (who loves sweets) and I'm really busy with school so I'm always stressed out. Luckily, since I'm still a student I have a pretty legitimate gym at my disposal, but after going to class in the morning and work until 5, I really don't feel like working out.

I try to enlist the help of my FH but he is as thin as a rail and thinks I look perfect the way I am.  If I could only see the world through his eyes...

<div>I know!  The other day I had just gotten out of the shower and was looking at the flaws I saw in the mirror and FI walks in and goes "Mmmmmm.  Hey sexy lady."  LOL.  I love that he sees me like that but I was in the middle of finding flaws.</div>

I wanted to keep my arms and shoulders toned for the wedding since I had a strapless dress, but after I bought my gown, I did my best to maintain my size as best I could.  When I got it, it fit perfectly and didn't need any alterations.  I did it with running mostly.  For the toning part, I highly recommend the 100 pushup challenge.  You can google it.  I couldn't believe how defined my arms and shoulders were in just a few weeks!

Dazed- I know what you mean about well endowed girls having trouble running.  It sucks.  You might try a sports bra from Moving Comfort.  They sell them at running stores like Gary Gribbles.  They're sold in cup sizes, so they actually fit my boobs without just squishing them down, and they're really supportive.  I managed to run a 1/2 marathon last October in one!  :)

kwagner- P90X is an at-home exercise program that will seriously kick your butt.  It's very effective, IF you can stick with it.  I have yet to meet a person who has actually finished all 90 days.  Very intense.  Plus, you won't be able to finish it in the 47 days you have left.

With your time frame, if you're motivated, just watch what you eat and I recommend Jillian Michaels 30 day shred.  I've never done it myself, but I've heard nothing but raves!  Good luck!

kwagner i agree with Whitney.  P90x is prolly not the thing to do with only 47 days left.  I only recently heard of it, and started it with 91 days left to my wedding...so i prolly won't finish it b/c i'm not sure i want to work out the day before my wedding.  Though if i make it that long then i prolly will.

Its all abt toning.  My dress fits pretty well right now so i am scared to lose to many inches b/c the it wouldn't fit, but i'm also a little excited by that idea.  On the 'plus' side my first alteration (and only) is gonna be in August.  So i have a few weeks to slim down.

I HIGHLY recommend the 100 push up challenge.  That was what i was doing before i started p90x.  There is also the 200 squat/sit-up challenge as well.

Thanks so much guys! I found the 200 situp challenge online and I've earmarked it to start tonight. I also found the 100 push up challenge, but that's considered "sports" on my work computer so I'll have to get those instructions later. Lastly, I just ordered the Jillian Michael's DVD. I forgot my FI's cousin used it to lose baby weight, so I'm anxious to try it! Abs and arms are my two focus areas, so hopefully I can stick with it all for a few weeks more!

Sorry I'm late to this one.

I had started with the idea that I wanted to lose weight before the wedding. However, I put my dress on the other day and it fit perfectly, so like others have said I'm a little worried to lose anything. Plus, I kind of love my body at the moment. I'm the 'biggest' I've ever been but I finally get what people mean when they say the weight makes you feel more sexy. I have curves I never had before!

If anything, I need to hit the gym to tone up my arms. They are looking a little flabby.

    But good luck everyone! :D

I have to say, you're doing an awesome job! When we met, I immediately noticed that you'd lost weight since the e-pic in your siggy. NOT that you don't look fantastic in those pictures, because you do, I could just notice a difference. Power to you! :D

I am extremely out of shape. Is the P90X for anyone, or should I get some endurance built up before I try it?
