Books recommendations??

I'm done with all marriage prep meetings through the church!  I definitely enjoyed getting to learn things and discuss things to make a stronger, healthier marriage.  Now I'm interested in reading some good marriage-related books.  I think it would be nice for FI and I to read a book together here or there to strengthen our relationship.  Any recommendations?  They don't necessarily have to be Catholic or religious.  I know you ladies have mentioned lots of books many times, but I'm asking again!   I intend on starting this AFTER the wedding (too much going on now), but want to start looking into it now.  Thanks!

    SIL got us Good News About Sex and Marriage, and I started it after we were married.  I really liked it.

    Resa, at first I got all grade-school girly about the book (ew SIL, why are you concerned with my sex life?), but I really like the style of writing.  It's humorous and so, so, so well-written.  I'm still working on it and I just love reading parts of it to H.

    What's Three to Get Married like?  I've heard of it, but don't know much about it.  I think initially I'll want to read something that's somewhat easy, and not too terribly philosophical.  FI loves philosophy, though, so he'll probably prefer those kinds of books.

    It's pretty typical of Fulton Sheen's style...somewhat philosophical but in a very poetic/attractive/thrilling sort of way. It's been awhile since I've read it but I guess what it did for me was cement how the ordinariness of married life is actually a participation in the sacred & mystical.

    I'm currently reading The Exceptional Seven Percent which is also by Popcak (the author of Holy Sex! which was mentioned above and I would also recommend). It's not Catholic or even religious but I'm enjoying it.

    The premise is that only 7% of married couples are truly, truly happy in their marriage (rather than just "getting by" or are "happy enough")  and that the skills to have this type of marriage are learned skills rather than something that you either have or you don't. So *anyone* can have a truly happy marriage. Then he details these 9 skills and how to use them in your marriage. A lot of it is review of things I already learnead in other books and marriage prep, etc, but even though I know it, I need a reminder now and then... probably more often than I'd like to admit :)

    We all got copies of Good News as part of the materials from our marriage prep seminar weekend.  I haven't gotten too far into it yet, but so far I like it.

    I'll have to make a list of all of these recommendations - I plan to do a TON of reading on the beach on my honeymoon, thanks to the Kindle Fire I got for Christmas last year

    Definitely get 5 Love Languages. Just reading the introduction opened up a line of thought and conversation that improved my relationship with FI.
