Wedding Dress Thread

Hi, I'm new to this board, getting married on the beach in FL on October 20, 2012. I'm looking for ideas on casual/beach dresses. I did a search and didn't find many pics for plus size brides.

I should say - I already have a dress that I bought last fall - that was before we decided on a quick elopement to Florida instead.

The dress you have is really nice - and if you love it no need to change... if you are looking some more plus choices a lot a dresses by Alfred Angelo go up to size 30 so you are not limited to just look under the plus header - also most places will cut them larger at a price....

but I am trying to convince myself i picked the better dress for me - I even went to DB to try it on but they did not have one in the local store... i already bought 3 different pairs of shoes and second dress is NOT in my budget

Hello Ladies!

First off both of your dresses are beautiful!!! I happen to love all AA dresses, I was gonna get one myself but I ended up going with Davids. I was soooo unsure about my dress. I lost many nights of sleep thinking about if I had picked the right one. My dress just came in and when I went to go pick it up I had to try it on, and when I did ... I felt like a princess all over again. Try to keep in mind that you picked your dress for a reason, you did like or love it at some point! And if worse comes to worse ..you can always take it back and start over

I do love my dress! I'm just thinking it's not really a 'beach' destinatin dress. When I bought it we were planning a more formal wedding/reception. Now we are eloping to FL with just our two children and my mom. I'm also considering just having the train cut off.

Really do what ever you want... no need to change what you already love & own - so the train gets sandy... big deal are you wearing it again??? i have seen a bunch of beach wedding on the WE Channel and the brides wear a wide array of things

Honestly.... If you have a dress you love, I would wear it. Don't worry about the fact that your wedding is on the beach. Rock that dress.

I emailed a pic of my dress to the person who I booked for alterations in August, she emailed back and assured me she can take off the train and shorten it a little bit! YAY!! So, I'm keeping the dress! I feel so much better with that decision made and I can move on to the next obstacle! Thanks everyone!
