Meeting with Minister & Organist Tomorrow

We're meeting with our minister and organist tomorrow (okay, technically today, I'm a night owl).  I have a list of questions prepaired, but what am I supposed to say to these guys?  I've never met them before, so it's not like I've been listening to him preach.  Anything you guys know of that I should ask?

Re: Meeting with Minister & Organist Tomorrow

  • Hmm... I'm not sure about a preacher. We hired an "officiant" so she's not tied to any certain religion, though she's mainly Christian. We just wanted to see her personality and her willingness to work with us on what we wanted. She seemed like the perfect fit. (She sent me a starting point form through email back in November even though she was working on her April people because she didn't want me to feel left out! Aww!)

Maybe ask to see a sample script from a few weddings to get the feel for what he typically does? Sorry I'm not much help... =/

If there is anything you have already thought about for your ceremony (certain music, readings, an idea of a specific ceremoney, etc) bring that up with them. The one thing with having someone with a religious connection is you have to make sure that they are ok with it... some are very specific about what they will allow in a ceremony they officiate.
