Too late for a bridal shower?

My MOH doesn't live in town and she was hoping to do my bachelorette party and bridal shower in the same weekend. That's not a big deal, but she wants to do it the weekend before the wedding. Do you think having a shower 5 days before the wedding is a bad idea? I almost feel like it's soo close to the wedding it's almost pointless... what do you think?

    I don't think it's that big of a deal as long as that's when it is best for everyone involved.

    We had my friend's shower 2 weeks before since that's when everyone could do it. So, you should be fine.

    That is what is happening with mine.  My sister does not get here until the week of the wedding so the shower and wedding are very close.

    Old post, I know. Posting anyway!!  I think it is being done as a courtesy to the guests who want to attend but can't do so earlier, and since you aren't in charge of it, I think it's very considerate.
