Thought I'd introduce myself

Hi ladies!

So I've been lurking around this board for a couple weeks reading posts here and there and thought I'd introduce myself. My name is Melissa, my fiance's name is Mike. We are getting married next August in the chapel at my Alma Mater. We are having a Christian ceremony followed by a reception at a local country club. We've been together for almost 3 years. He proposed at Disney World in front of the castle during the fireworks (which has been my dream since I was a little girl but I never told him... he's good haha Laughing) . I am currently a graduate student studying counseling and I am interning as a counselor working with abused and neglected children. FI also has a Master's in Counseling and works counseling at risk children who are abused and neglected as well. I'm not sure what else to include but I really look forward to getting to know you girls and talking about our weddings!

    How sweet!

    I've always been interested in counselling, especially in regards to abused children. For now, I'm looking to start my career in child welfare. :)

    Haha well hey I'm in good company then. I'm definitely looking forward to sticking around. Everyone on this board seems very welcoming and friendly vs. many of the other boards who are not so kind to eachother... haha. Your wedding is sooo soon! I can't wait to hear all about it :)

    It is definitely very rewarding.. especially when you see the kids starting to get stronger and make progress. And I love the relationships I get to develop with them. I could blab all day haha but child welfare is a wonderful field! IMHO any field that can make the lives of kids better is amazing :)

    I have actually ordered my dress. I did it first... little backwards haha. I had to order it by August 1st (won a free wedding dress contest yipee). Luckily I found one I loveee so that worked out. It's Sottero and Midgley Suzette. I'm still debating back and forth about colors.... we shall see haha.
