Did anyone do a non-fondant wedding cake? It seems like every baker I speak to makes me feel like I'm totally skimping if I don't do a fondant cake.
But honestly, we don't like the taste of fondant at all. We have had it from 3 different bakers and just think it's gross! Not to mention just for the fondant plain adds $300-$400 to our cake.
We are hoping to get a red velvet cake from The Petite Cafe but they need to do a different frosting than usual & she kinda explained to me that it may not look perfect - that she mainly does fondant cakes....
Does anyone have pics or recommendation of places?
