Vendor Reviews

Hope this will be helpful for new brides looking for vendors.  Here is a summary of who I used.

Flowers - Bloomtastic Upper Arlington
A
They did an awesome job.  I worked with Katie Rogers and Heather Waits. They were very organized and are reasonably priced. Heather was very good with offering suggestions of other flowers or creative ideas.  The flowers turned out amazing.  I loved my bouquet and brides maid bouquets.  Before I left for the honeymoon I put my bouquet in water inside the refrigerator.  A week later when I came back the flowers still looked beautiful.  They do quality work.  I will caution any new brides to make sure you read your contracts in depth so you are sure you are getting exactly what you want.  I thought I had some extra petals ordered for tables at my reception and I didn't.  It wasn't their fault because they followed everything on my contract to the "t".  I would highly recommend Bloomtastic to anyone!

Photographer - Doug Melvin & Associates New Albany
A++
Doug did an amazing job.  He is reasonably priced and you get a lot for your money.  We got engagement pictures, 3 photographers all day at the wedding, a guest book, lots of prints, and two videos.  He is very creative and good with the camera, and fun to work with.  We had three photographers and a videographer at the wedding and they didn't miss a moment!  I love my pictures.  I would highly recommend Doug to anyone!

DJ - Buckeye Entertainment
A+
Byron Gunter did an awesome job.  He listed to our music choices and played exactly what we wanted.  He was fun and energetic but not cheesy or in your face.  He is very professional and so reasonably priced.  I think he is one of the cheapest around for a 5 hour service.  I am very happy with they order of events.  Byron keep everything moving smoothly the whole night and everyone danced and had fun.  I would highly recommend Byron.

Reception Venue - La Scala Dublin
A+
The wedding reception was beautiful.  Cathy Tuthill is the wedding coordinator and she is awesome to work with.  She is on top of things and very re-assuring.  La Scala was in charge of decorating.  All we had to do was drop them off and give instructions on where to put everything.  I was a little nervous on handing this over to someone else, but the tables and room turned out beautiful.  The food was so incredibly good!  They are a restaurant so you know the food is good to begin with.  They give you a free menu tasting a few months before the event so you can pick what you like.  The only thing that went wrong was the top tier of the cake did not get served and some people didn't get cake.  We decided not to save the top part of the cake because we didn't want to freeze it for a year.  Somehow that information didn't get communicated and they saved the top portion of the cake.  But that was very minor mishap and everyone had a good time which was most important.

Cake - Alice's Piece of Cake - Powell
A
The cake tasted and looked great too.  I was a little disappointed when they had so many flowers on top that it covered up our monogram K, but overall it was beautiful.  Alice's butter cream frosting was so good.  She also made a gluten-free chocolate birthday cake for my husband because his birthday was a few days after the wedding.  That was the best gluten free thing I've ever tasted.  You could not tell it was gluten free.  Alice was nice to work with, but she is a busy lady so some of her responses were a little delayed.  Overall I would recommend her.

Rehearsal Dinner - La Chatelaine Worthington
A-
This was a place that my husband and I ate at before and loved the atmosphere.  They did a great job.  The food was good, there were a few things I didn't like, but then there were other things that made up for it.  I don't like the way they decided to serve the food. We had a long wait because they did all the chicken dishes at once, all the steak, and all the fish dishes so things came out at different times.  Overall I would recommend this place to have brunch, lunch or dinner, but maybe not a rehearsal dinner.  It is a great place to sip on a glass of wine and enjoy the area.

Photobooth - The Columbus Photobooth Company - Powell
A+
The photobooth was so fun.  It was such a hit.  We have some funny pictures!  It was great for kids and adults of all ages.  Chad and Sherry are the owners and they were very responsive and well organized.  Allison was at our wedding and she did a great job of keeping people moving along.  I would highly recommend this photobooth company to anyone.
